Champion of Peace

Life

Bridge To Freedom

Like the Champion of Peace there is just no challenger to Christ’s authority and power. He has won the victory… He has overcome the grave and reigns for all to see.

Our declaration is for His power to be released in this day.

This can be the generation of reconciliation where a sharp contrast is displayed between the meaningless rituals of idolatry and the glorious substance of life in the Kingdom of God.

 We are hungry for more.

The enormous chasm that once stood between God and man has been eliminated and the cross has established a bridge to freedom. All the world must know, they must be told of all that has been accomplished through the blood of the Perfect Man.

Jesus has become our Peace!

It’s the “life experience”… the breaking of Satan’s grip.  The Prince of Righteousness who rides upon the wind is alive and calling forth the nations… “Come ride with Me; Come live in victorious triumph where all things have become new!” The joy of life… the life of joy. This is our destiny because He is our Champion of Peace who has won the victory.

So let the glory come down – let the wind blow and let the fire rest upon this generation.

We shall see in our day the drawing forth of the Sons and Daughters… those who will ride upon His power and experience triumph like never has been seen before.

Forerunners

Recently the Lord released me to declare a word that has been in my heart for several months. I am excited and anticipate incredible opportunity for the next few seasons, as we experience together the emergence of the “Forerunner Spirit”.

Let’s begin with some context. Forerunners are individuals called to go ahead of the broader Body of Christ to “prepare the way for the people”. In other words, their labors are primarily to pioneer a new expression of God’s heart and work. To me, the call of a forerunner is best summed up in Isaiah 51:16,

”I have set My words in your mouth, and have hidden you under the shadow of My hand, to establish the Heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion, you are My people”.

Three primary goals of the forerunner calling are identified in this verse.

  •  The first priority is to “establish the Heavens”… to bring breakthrough in the spirit realm so that a move of God can be released upon the earth.

Once a portal of revival is opened in the Heavenly realm, communion with God must be maintained through worship, intercession and passionate obedience to God’s voice. Forerunners are praying people; intercessors if you will, who serve as gate-keepers in the House of the Lord (Ps 84:10)(Ps 27:4)(1 Chron 9:17-34)(Isa 56:7).

  •  The second priority is to “found, or lay the foundations, of the earth”.

The work of a forerunner is apostolic in nature and more about honoring the anointing than offering good services and religious programs. Christ must be laid as the Chief Cornerstone of all we call “Church” and the foundations laid with us who are the “living stones”. God desires in this season to recover our original foundations and build His Kingdom instead of our own religious groups (Acts 2:42-47)(1 Cor 3:10-17)(Eph 4:11-13)(1 Tim 3:15).

  •  The third priority is to say to Zion, “You are My people”.

In other words… God passionately desires to call back a covenant people who do not know that He cherishes them in His heart. Forerunners reveal pathways that have long been ignored or overlooked by making declaration and pointing the way. John the Baptist was a great example of this priority.

We who have been saved are all qualified through the Blood of Jesus to be His covenant people… to receive an inheritance of loving provision among the saints who have gone before. Part of preparing the way for a forerunner is standing in the Truth of God’s Promises until the hearts of His Children see the expression of His Fathering heart.

Perhaps the most significant thing about the ministry of a forerunner is that they, like John the Baptist minister from the river. Standing in the river of God, forerunners interceed for a generation to come. Our destiny is to declare the invitation…

”Come all who are weary, experience the mercy and live in the freedom of abundant life”.

The Law of Love

We cannot fully grasp the pain that sin causes without recognizing the degree of sacrifice God made to cleanse us from it… the incredible gift of forgiveness came with the price of Jesus’ death.

God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him might have forgiveness of sin and everlasting life (Jn 3:16).

We are accustomed to the thought that Christ bore all our sins on the Cross and I think we have become desensitized to the enormous pain He personally had to endure so that our sins would be forgiven. Sin is not merely breaking a law, violating a precept, doing something we shouldn’t have, or not doing something we should have. Sin is even more than offending the justice or honor or truth of the Lord.

Sin hurts God, because He is a Father… Our Father!

We must understand that life is all about relationships… it is what gives life its purpose and meaning. Sin breaks relationship and abuses the privileges love offers. That’s why its called trespassing. The Law of Love is the highest law of Scripture and demands our greatest attention.

Jesus was asked what was the greatest commandment and His response was;

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” (Mt 22:37-40).

In Paul’s writing to the Galatians He emphasized this idea even more by making the statement that love fulfills the law (Gal 5:14 & 6:2). He was getting to the fact that living a life that honors God cannot be done without a commitment to relationship and this incredible Law of Love.

Resistance Is Not Futile

Waking up this morning with the phone ringing reminds me again… we are in a spiritual battle! Its a familiar voice and an all too familiar story. Every single day, there is a battle raging in the spirit realm for the heart of each individual person, society, and the world as a whole.

God is trying to draw us toward Himself and righteousness.

Our Helper, the Holy Spirit broods over us to influence our consistent fellowship with our Heavenly Father, so that His blessings can be enjoyed and released through our lives. God’s Word invites us as believers to listen for the voice of God, wait for the leadership of Heaven and follow the ancient paths that released generational blessing and freedom (Jer 6:16).

At the same time, Satan is trying to steal our hearts away from God, because he wants this generation.

It is an all-out battle against the Lord and His Kingdom. The enemy of our soul is spewing out the most vile garbage and corruption he can, in order to pollute, deceive and release shame into our lives.

Most of us (even Christians) don’t recognize the intense battle being waged all around us each and every day (Eph 6:10-12).

We don’t take note of the spiritual significance of our choices, words, and actions… so we reap what we have sown. We are unaware of how our actions or lack of action, determines our present attitude and our future success. Functionally we either yield to God and release His blessing into this generation or we yield to Satan and release sin and death, broken-ness and every curse imaginable (Rom. 6:16).

The Devil is a schemer and aims to control us without our awareness. He is a master of deception and he can get us to yield our wills without our knowing. He simply uses our emotions. His greatest advantage is our ignorance and passivity toward the battle. Satan twists Truth so that it sounds reasonable and honorable among a culture. Our national appeal toward tolerance is a good example of this concept.

If we choose to believe God’s Word, we will discover the value of the ancient paths the Prophet Jeremiah alludes to and recognize what’s happening in the spirit realm today, toward this generation. We can begin to shift the focus of our energy and become a resource of Godly wisdom and Truth. Cooperating with God will manifest His power and blessings.

The Bible exhorts us to: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (Jms 4:7).

Resistance is not futile… it is our life in Christ.

Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. The revelation of God’s Word has the power to transform our life and the lives of all who see the Kingdom modelled before them. As we begin to understand and exercise our authority as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, Satan will flee and God’s power and blessings will manifest in our generation more than ever.

Yielded

When wakened from a night of sleep my heart is quick to step into the fresh new mercies of the day ahead.

”Thank You, Jesus for the blood of Calvary… for I know that if it were not for the blood I would still be walking in my sins, without hope of renewal and freedom in the Holy Spirit”.

The communion of the Holy Spirit is a tangible reality and I can simply draw near to God with my voice through praise, acknowledge His provision for me and awaken my sensitivity to His loving touch upon my life. His approach is sweet to my spirit man and in faith I perceive His breath upon my heart. Never seeing Him with my eyes, I know His approach. Like a soothing moment of confident assurance… I am engaged in relationship with God as my Father and He claims my heart as His very own. I sense His thoughts postured for embrace,

”Son, come now and let My love capture your imagination… for I accept you as you are. I see your yielded heart and long to fill you with My will for you today. If you will only have an ear to hear I will position you for impact and enlarge your life in Me.”

This is a holy moment when the pause of humanity is called into obedience. My response is always the same, “Lord You know better than anyone that I am but flesh, yet at Your bidding I am undone, because I know that anything of significance that I can do is by Your grace. So here I am listening for Your direction and looking for You to manifest Your glory within my steps.”

Nothing else is said and yet I know that my day has now begun to accomplish the will of God and crush the powers of darkness before me this day.

I am cheered by a great cloud of witnesses and accompanied by angelic hosts who grab the prayers off my lips. I am filled with the awareness that in this posture I can do all things co-laboring with Christ. This is the life the devils in hell fear the most… yielded!
