Everything Can Shake

Shaking is scary.

Shaking can be scary!

Sometimes I am amused at the way we think. We refuse to believe we will see an evil outcome from our evil actions. Our ignorance is not bliss, nor amusing however; because we will realize, (the hard way it seems) that we reap what we have sown (Gal 6:6-10). God will shake this world into position for His end time scenerio to take shape and progress will come according to His priorities. Everything can shake, because God is bigger than our world.

No question… The time has come, we must set our hearts to listen for His voice again.

“See to it that you do not refuse Him who speaks.”
“If they did not escape when they refused Him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from Him who warns us from heaven? At that time His voice shook the earth, but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” Now this, “Yet once more” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.” (Heb 12:25-27)

God has been speaking and we have not been listening!

This is a day where we all need to get it right; because the shaking and turmoil we see today around the world, is going to increase. We must become unshakable, in order to be among those who negotiate the pitfalls of the next millenium.

Ears must be tuned into God’s heartbeat.

We go through the wilderness to discover what must be removed, replaced and reshaped; to gain an ear that is tuned into God’s heartbeat. In order for our efforts to establish any real Kingdom advancement, we must hear our Commander and Chief. In this scenerio; its none other than Jesus, the Lord of the Heavenly Hosts.

I am reminded of Joshua’s surprising visit from this “Commander of the Lord’s Army” (Josh 5:13-15). Joshua’s agenda became an unimportant point as he recognized his position outside of Jericho. This was a fortified city and whether the Commander was for Isreal or not; all discussion was now over. The fact that the One, who commanded God’s army had arrived; was all that mattered. Joshua found himself in a place where hearing became his greatest asset.

“What does my Lord say to His servant?”

Often the only way to recover this heartbeat is to have some shaking, some terrorist plot or national revolution, so we come to a place where the discussing ends. Our wisdom got us into this mess; only our reliance upon God, can get us out. Its in the shaking that we see the difference!

Lord Send Me!

Anointed with an Assignment

Another History Shaper

I had never heard of spiritual gifts…

“What? I have no idea…” I was unfamiliar with the concept of spiritual gifts, let alone evaluate my own. I had no idea that spiritual gifts were one of God’s primary ways of revealing His will to me. I couldn’t fathom how God could send me into a needy world. So as my spiritual journey progressed I often never responded or responded too quickly to God’s question… “Whom shall I send?”

It makes sense as I look back now!

God supernaturally empowers us, so that we are equipped to do what He has called us to do. Though I don’t have time to get into how God calls us and how to actually discover your spiritual gifts in this article; let me just share with you why it’s so crucial to discover, develop, and deploy your spiritual gifts.

Every Christian has an assignment! (Rom 12:3-8)

The Bible declares that all Christian believers have an assignment or ministry. Maybe it will not be a ministry from behind a pulpit, but God will always offer His energizing touch, the anointing of the Holy Spirit. If you really figure out how God has wired you and how He has gifted you, it just may change the course of your life and ministry from this point on.

Your passion released into God’s Will for your life will lead to greater joy and impact for the Kingdom of Heaven.

The fact is, God has chosen very ordinary, common people; just like you and me, to accomplish the biggest events in all of human history. Look at Elijah for instance, (James 5:17-18) a man with a nature like ours, but through prayer was enabled to hold back the rain for more than 3 years and then through that same prayer released the rain. Another common man was Peter; taking a nap on a roof top (Acts 10:9), when he gets a dream that would later become the platform for the Gentiles to be received into the Church, just like the Jews who put their faith in Jesus.

History can be shaped by our obedience!

God had a plan and someone heard the call! An assignment is released from Heaven and through obedience; great things are accomplished. Its no different today; all we need to do is discover our assignment and we become potential history shapers for the Kingdom of Heaven.

Possessing The Ground

The Brighter Future

...awaits your entry.

”Someday in the future I’m gonna look much better than I look right now!”

This proclamation was heard at a conference I recently attended, where we felt the compelling urge to prophetically step into the new places God had carved out for us. We were taking the radical steps we needed to resist our enemies and possess the ground already acquired by God.

We need to rule in the midst of our enemies!

The activity of ruling in the midst of our enemies should feel like a mighty militant victory shout. There’s been a transfer of ownership and we must run off the present-day squatters. ”Dis-possessing” those squatters is what Christ did by conquering sin through the Cross of Calvary… yet possessing our victory ground is a challenge we must not overlook.

The spoils of Christ’s victory is our abundant life!

Unforgiveness is a squatter, bitterness and envy are squatters, competition, jealousy, pride, fornication, sorcery, heresies and uncleanness of all kinds are squatters, upon the promise ground of God’s work in our lives. These deceiving spirits lie and establish false ownerships… they communicate through intimidation.

We must speak with faith and courage!

Life and death are in the power of our tongue and we overcome Satan’s lies by the word of our testimony. God’s destiny is not far from our possession, it just gets obstructed by the deceptive temptations that the enemy sets in our path. Deut 30:14 declares God’s pathway for obtaining the inheritance. He says look now…

”the Word is near you; even in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.”

He is speaking here of the opportunity to move into promised land through our obedient use of believing and speaking. Its the activity of faith… and its the obligation of all who aim to have influence for the glory of Christ. In this day; we must have Kingdom advancement for the obtaining of every mountain, every valley and every realm of influence. We must rule the ground we currently possess!

Unashamed

“I am part of the fellowship of the unashamed. The lines have been drawn. I have stepped over the edge. The decision has been made. I am a disciple of Christ, a Son of Righteousness; and I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.

My past is redeemed. My present is secure. My future is unstoppable. I’m finished with boxes, business as usual and safety nets. The days of breakthrough have come and I am no longer willing to settle for limited passion, small vision, safe plans, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed ideas and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, position, promotions, popularity or applause. I don’t have to be right, or first, or tops, or recognized, or praised, or rewarded. I live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, lift by prayer, and labor by Holy Spirit power.

My face is set. My gait is fast. My goal is heaven. My road may be narrow, my way rough, my companions few, but my Guide is reliable and my mission is clear.

I will not be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed.

I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice or hesitate in the presence of the adversary. I will not negotiate at the table of the enemy, pander at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won’t give up, shut up, or let up until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, and preached up for the cause of Christ.

I am a disciple of Jesus, the Christ; who was, is and forever will be the Anointed King of Glory. I must give until I drop, preach until all know, and work until He comes. And when He does come for His own, He’ll have no problem recognizing me. My colors will be clear and my character will be clean! This is my claim without regret, this is where I stand… unashamed.”

Without Excuses

And never look back!

Live Without Excuses

The Bible teaches that we all intuitively know that God exists. Perhaps you have experienced the mystery of God and couldn’t put your finger on the cause. As human beings, our interaction with the created world somehow tells us that there is a God. Ignoring Him does not work well, because our heart will; at some point along the journey, need what God has to offer… love, forgiveness, mercy and relationship. He is the One who brings purpose and meaning to our lives.

 We need God!

Consider the following verse from the book of Romans: ”For since the creation of the world God’s invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that men are without excuse” (Rom. 1:20).

Being “without excuses” does not mean we have no doubts, but it does mean we can move beyond the doubts, into the understanding realms of God. This realm is where He helps us, as a Father helps His children. We find that God has offered wisdom and revelation through the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Most people want more evidence, but as was pointed out in the verse above, God’s invisible attributes are clearly seen by what He has made. Our understanding of the evidence must come through a sincere relationship with Him.

God reveals Himself in many different ways.

Becoming convinced of God’s existence is a vital part of how we view ourselves and the world around us. The stakes can be pretty high and we would not want to take a chance on being wrong. To admit that there is a God, would mean that there are moral implications for our behavior.

Many times we push God out of our consciousness, so we can avoid giving up sin or so that we will not have to admit that what we are currently involved in must change. This gets to the heart of why God would say we are without excuse… we cannot walk in our excuses any longer.

Repentance opens the door to understanding!

Its repentance and the willingness to let go of sinful behavior that opens the door of our hearts for understanding to take place. Scripture tells us “that the goodness of God leads us to repentance” (Rom 2:4). The only reason repentance is difficult for us is that we do not understand God’s goodness. Goodness is one of those invisible attributes that become real to us in the context of our personal relationship with Him. How do we understand it, except in a way that becomes personal experience? The writer of the book of Hebrews tells us:

 “…by faith we understand…” (Heb 11:3).
