Found Praying

The Holy Spirit came to a godly man living in Damascus named Ananias. The instruction to Ananias was to go to Judas’ house on Straight Street, lay hands on Saul and restore his sight. Of course, Ananias knew of Saul’s reputation and realized this was going to be dangerous. Yet, here is how the Holy Spirit speaks of Saul of Tarsus to Ananias: “behold, he is praying” (Acts 9:11). The Lord was saying, in essence, “Ananias, you will find this man on his knees. He knows you are coming and he will be found praying. He even knows your name, and why you’re being sent to him. He wants his eyes opened.”

Saul was Desperate:

When did Saul receive this inner knowing? How did he receive this vision, this pure Word from God? It came through fervent prayer and supplication. In fact, I believe the Holy Spirit’s words to Ananias reveal what moved God’s heart about Saul. Saul had been shut in with God for three days, refusing all food and water. All he wanted was the Lord. So he continued on his knees all that time, praying and seeking God.

Prayer Changes Everything:

Yes, prayer does indeed change us, and that is surely one of God’s purposes for it. But the Bible says that prayer can actually change things that seem impossible. Like a man named Saul of Tarsus becoming a mighty Apostle to the Gentiles.

Co-Laboring:

Have you ever asked or wondered why pray? Why does God choose to work this way? Why not just do everything Himself? Why include us? I believe the answer is very simple, “co-laboring”. When God’s people can be involved in His work and experience a flow of grace through prayer, they will be drawn closer to Him. Perfect example of this, is Ananias. God didn’t need Ananias to go to Saul and pray for him. He could have done it without Ananias… but He didn’t. And the amazing testimony is still effecting the world as Christians read the New Testament letters of Paul.

Maintain Your Prayer Life!

Next time you pray, say to yourself: “This prayer could change history!” As intercessors, God has ordained that we pray (1 Tim. 2:1). He intends to change things through my prayer, and He has ordained my voice to impact the world for His purpose… to bring about Kingdom results.

“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (Jms. 5:16)… it changes the impossible!

Inner Pulse

Check Your Inner Pulse -

Ephesians 3:16 says that we can be, “…strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man”. Phillip’s translation says, “…He will enable you to know the strength of the Spirit’s inner reinforcement…” Like a wonderful internal source of power that sustains our life when all else fails; we can come to know and check our spiritual pulse… the Holy Spirit’s strengthening.

As you learn to yield to the Holy Spirit living in you, you will find yourself being fortified and built up with inner strength. He has been sent to nurture you, to support you, and to hold you up in times of struggle. This is the meaning behind “fullness”!

Many in the Church today are trying to live the life of an overcomer without learning how to rely on the Holy Spirit’s inner strength. They are living frustrated and confused lives as they struggle to understand grace in the midst of spiritual challenges. They deal with life’s daunting problems on their own level of knowledge… but there is a better way.

Clothed in Glory: (Lk. 24:49)

Clothed in power from the Holy Spirit, we can accomplish spiritual tasks and find the pulse of God within. Yielding to the Spirit’s inner strength will break the frustration and anxiety of doing it on our own and lead to peace of mind and an effectiveness that cannot be explained naturally.

“…but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the Will of God.” (Rom. 8:26-27)

These groanings can only be perceived by our learning to lean upon the Spirit’s inner pulse. The Holy Spirit is able to search our hearts and to know the innermost needs of the moment. He also fully understands God’s perfect will for your life and He comprehends secret things that are hidden beyond your finite, earthly knowledge. The Holy Spirit is able to blend all of this together and articulate the most perfect petition to God, praying on a level that we could never achieve on our own.

Knowing the Pulse:

When we train ourselves to rely on the Spirit’s inner pulse and allow Him to pray through us with supernatural groanings and articulations, we will find that all things, whether good or bad, will be turned to our good as the Spirit has His way in our lives. This “praying in the Spirit” is an essential key to knowing the resources of God’s heart powerfully beating inside us… it tunes us into the Will of God.

“We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.” (Rom. 8:28 Amp.)

Really Saved

We are saved by what God has done for us in the Person of His Son, Jesus Christ. When a person believes that Jesus died for their sins and then receives His free gift of salvation, they are saved. God forgives us of all our sins and makes us His child. We are given everlasting life… immediately!

How do I know that I have everlasting life? I know because God says so in His Word… and God cannot lie!

“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life…” (1 Jn. 5:13).

Whose word is this? It is God’s Word, so we know that it is true.

God said it! – I believe it! – That settles it!

Being a Child of God is the most wonderful thing in all the world, but let me tell you a secret… The Christian life is not an easy life here on earth. Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation [trouble]; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (Jn. 16:33). It may be tough, and we may fall from time to time, but we have someone on our side, an Advocate before the Father, who stands with us. Jesus is like a personal spokesman who pleads our case, because of our confession of faith in His personal sacrifice for us on the Cross. He now stands in heaven for us, before the Throne of God and declares our rights to all the benefits of salvation… peace, forgiveness, righteousness and power in the Presence of God. All that we need is available in Christ… and all we do is walk by faith.

We will have troubles and trials will chase us, but the goodness of God will follow us and His blessings will never end. This is the life, when we make our heart Christ’s home. If the Lord Jesus is living in our heart, we do not have to be afraid. He has promised, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you” (Heb. 13:5). We can feel confident in His powerful work in our lives.

So Are You Really Saved?

If you have taken the Lord Jesus as your Savior, please tell someone near you who can encourage and pray with you. This life is about the wonderful journey of knowing Christ as your friend and allowing God to be “father” to you in every choice you make. Expect God to speak to your heart often, as the Holy Spirit will confirm to you that you… are really saved (Rom. 8:16).

Jesus said, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul” (Mk. 8:36).

Harold Eberly

Harold Eberly and his wife, Linda are two folks in whom I have great respect.  Based upon my experience with Worldcast Ministry and the flow of anointing in their life, I wanted to extend this message to my readers. I am seeing in our own work of planting Training Centers in East Africa, the huge impact to the nations. I believe its our responsibility to reach out, disciple the nations and raise up a fresh new vision of God’s heart in the world. I am constantly bombarded with calls from locations where Islam is being established, so I am excited to hear of Brother Eberly’s wonderful work. Praise God – Read and Enjoy!

Dear Brother in Christ,

For a long time I have been dreaming about working in the Middle East. It is God’s dream. There are over 1.4 billion Muslims in the world and God loves them. His heart is reaching out to them. His Spirit is preparing them. Millions are experiencing dreams about Jesus. He is ready to bring in a great harvest and I have been asking God if I can join Him in leading 20 millions Muslims to Him. He is telling me, “Yes.”

I get different reactions when I share this dream with friends. Some are overwhelmed by the size of that number and their eyes glaze over partly because they have no frame of reference for why I would even want to bother with the Muslims. The reason I bother is because God has put them in my heart. I love them. They are people just like you and me. I also have faith that it is possible. We have already been able to help establish two Bible Colleges in Pakistan, and our leaders there have led over 20,000 to Jesus in the last two years.

Other friends who hear me share this vision for 20 million Muslims have the opposite reaction and wonder why I am limiting salvations to that number. I know there are many other people whom God will use to bring in millions more. As for me, I need a goal. I need a starting point. But I have learned that every time I get my faith up to some point where I am believing God for something big, He always goes beyond what I am asking. Once I get my faith up there, doors start to open, I meet the right people, and everything I need begins to fall into place. That is how God works.

Now a major door has been opened. A Pakistani leader/friend has asked me to teach a daily program on the television station that his church operates. It is directed toward presenting the simple message of God’s love throughout the Middle East. Actually the satellite signal for this station covers over half of the world’s population, including China, India, and all of the Middle East. It is nothing like Christian broadcasting in America. There is no money raising. It is purely outreach to a world that has not heard the truth of Jesus Christ. It is what I want to do. God put this in me.

Starting June 1, my teachings (video-taped here in America) will be broadcast twice each day, seven days each week, from Pakistan throughout the surrounding nations. Because the leader of the station values my teachings, he is offering me prime-time slots on the station. We will be calling the program, The Gospel of Peace.

Here in America it has been estimated that the Church spends about $200,000 for every person led to Jesus. In the evangelistic meetings that we have so far held in the Middle East it has cost about 60 cents per person who responds to the gospel. Through this television it will be even more economical because the harvest is so abundant right now. Presently the television station has about 4,000 people calling in everyday for prayer. I hope to see this multiplied many times over.

Now I need to raise $4,000 per month. About half of this is for production of the programs and the other half is for support of the Pakistani station. So I am bringing my need to you. As in previous years, you have given my vision wings. I wouldn’t ask if I could afford this on my own. $4,000 per month only requires 30 friends giving $133 per month. Or 133 friends giving $30 per month.

We already got started. We held a fund-raising dinner two weeks ago and raised $1,339 per month, along with one time gifts of $5,500. I am hoping I can find some more friends out there. If I can manage to raise the rest, those 20 million Muslims are as good as saved. Please consider it. I am just asking for commitments between now and the end of the year. If you join me, I will keep you abreast of the happenings. Then in December I will contact you again to see if you want to continue. If you have a heart for the lost, please join me. Thank you.

Is Hell Real?

I am often asked to share about the reality of hell, yet I write these thoughts with a sense of caution, knowing the great passion this topic brings to our minds. Let me first say that I believe there is a flood of false doctrine being advanced lately by people who do not understand the justice of God. They would rather believe in the wisdom of man and philosophies that depend upon frail foundations, more than Biblical Truth. Men try and tell us “that God is too merciful to punish souls forever… that all mankind, however wicked and ungodly… will sooner or later be saved”. We are being asked to embrace what is called “a kinder theology” and treat hell as a pagan fable. But this is not Biblical Truth… and it is not a “kinder theology” if it leads to deception. We must “contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3).

Foundation:

This question of whether hell exists, lies at the very foundation of the Bible. The Message of the Glory of God, His moral attributes, His justice, His holiness, His purity, are all involved in our true understanding of hell as a real place, with real eternal significance. The Scripture has spoken plainly and fully on the subject of hell. If words mean anything and if our Christian faith is to be interpreted fairly, then hell is real and there are people who will be cast into it!

The same Bible which teaches that God sent Christ to die for sinners, also teaches that God hates sin, and must from His very nature punish all who cleave to sin by refusing to embrace the salvation He has provided.

God knows I find it difficult to speak about the realities of hell; but without speaking about hell, we cannot speak clearly about the Cross or its message to humanity. I would gladly and boldly share the truth of salvation through Christ to anyone, even the very worst of sinners. I would willingly say to the vilest and most wicked or the richest and most prestigious of our society, “Repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.” (Mk. 1:15)(Acts 8:37)(Acts 16:31)

“But God forbid that I should ever keep back from mortal man what Scripture reveals about hell as well as heaven…that men may be lost as well as saved.”  (Quote by Rev. J.C. RYLE )

The Facts Remain:

  1. Hell is real! The Bible speaks more about Hell then Heaven. (Mt. 23:33)(Mt. 5:29)
  2. Hell is fearful! It is a place of torment and punishment. (Lk. 16:28)(Mt. 13:42) Hell is a place of real intense suffering, ‘weeping and gnashing of teeth’.
  3. Hell is eternal! (Mt. 25:41)(Mt. 25:46) “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

Salvation is the Free Gift of God - to All who Call Upon the Name of the Lord! (Eph. 2:8-10)(Rom. 10:13)

The hope of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God (Mt. 4:17) is that Jesus died for sinners and bore the just penalty for their sins! Now God offers a full and free pardon, forgiveness of sin and salvation from sin… for those who repent and surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ as their Savior! (Rom. 5:7-11)(1 Pe. 3:18)(Jn. 6:47)(Acts 3:19)(2 Cor. 5:21)
