Our Vision is to do more than dream… we want to see a fresh move of God’s heart in Rwanda. I see that through Apostolic Training Centers, we can transform our culture and release revival throughout all of Rwanda. Lamp of Revelation Knowledge

“For You will light my lamp, the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, and by My God I can leap over a wall.” (Ps. 18:28-29)

God has made a promise to “light my lamp”… my spirit is alive with His revelation knowledge! The Hebrew word for light, “owr” means to be or become light, to shine, to be illuminated. It carries the meaning of spiritual revelation. When God shines His glorious light into our spiritual journey, we experience the sensation of a real awakening. Something is being turned on and its this “lamp of revelation knowledge” that destroys the dominion of darkness that surrounds our understanding.

Revelation is an Unfolding of Reality:

This “aha” moment causes us to see things for what they really are. Being enlightened simply opens our eyes to what is already there, but hidden from our understanding. God often hides things for our discovery! He wants us to come into Truth with a commitment to obey and abide in it. When you and I become aware of spiritual things and possess a fresh understanding about life in relationship with God, we are walking in the spirit of revelation. You receive revelation knowledge by drawing near to Him, not simply by getting information about Him (Jms. 4:8-10).

Another place in Scripture we see this little word (owr) used is in Psalms 119:130. The Amplified Bible says, “The entrance and unfolding of Your words give light (owr); their unfolding gives understanding (discernment and comprehension) to the simple”.

Revelation Transforms:

We must realize the impact of revelation knowledge. At its entrance and unfolding; discernment and comprehension come to even the most simple minded man. We can and need to walk in revelation knowledge everyday, because our enemy, Satan is like a prowling lion looking for the moments of blindness in our lives, so that he can pounce and drag us into deception (1 Pe. 5:8). With spiritual revelation comes wisdom from God and intuition about spiritual things. Our greatest thoughts, visions or strategies for life are yet to be revealed in us, yet they give us the advantage God offers His Children.

We must train our spirit to receive revelation knowledge or we will find ourselves walking after the patterns of this world. Its not wrong to have natural knowledge (the world’s wisdom), but it is a more limited form of discernment. When we walk in spiritual revelation our understanding is not limited by our five senses; sight, hearing, feelings, smelling or tasting. Living under the influence of what God is revealing is the definition of the renewed mind (Rom. 12:1-2).

Tapping into Deeper Revelation:

It is by the Holy Spirit that the deeper things of God become available to our perception. Therefore, we need to be taught how to open ourselves to the ministry of the Holy Spirit and how to recognize what He is imparting to us on the inside. Our spiritual growth and effectiveness in ministry depend upon the ability to hear a current word from God (Rom. 10:17). The more the Word of God renews our mind and the Holy Spirit positions our heart toward obedience, the more clarity we receive in the spirit realm. Its no different than if we turn the dial on a radio and hear the variety of music styles in the air… tuning in offers clarity.

What Revelation Knowledge will do for you:

1) Change Your Perceptions:
a. of God – (1 Cor. 2:10) “For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.”
b. of yourself – (2 Cor. 3:18) “…beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, (we) are being transformed… from glory to glory…”
c. of your purpose – When the Lord spoke to Moses, he understood that his purpose was to set the children of Israel free. (Exod. 2-3)
d. of your destiny – A meeting with Christ on the way to Damascus Paul’s destiny was totally changed (Acts 26:15-18).
2) Activate Faith: In 2 Kings 4:9 that woman had to take action to make sure that they prepared a room for the man of God. The knowledge that she had was coming from inside so she could not rest until she had fulfilled what the Spirit had told her.
3) Deepen Your Discernment: The Apostle Paul would not know of his future until he got a revelation of what was about to happen. After that he knew they were going to survive and was able to deliver such a message (Acts 27:22-25).
4) Clarify Your Focus: There was great focus in Paul’s ministry because he had a revelation of God.
5) Increase Your Passion: The Apostles Peter and John ministered with passion and with fresh vision for ministry. Paul said, “to live is Christ and to die is gain” (Phil. 1:21). That kind of life can only be lived by people with a revelation of Christ.
6) Release A Spiritual Boldness – Its the Pioneering Heart! With a word in your spirit from God nothing can stop you from fulfilling your destiny (Lk. 1:37).

Unmasking Idolatry

“And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” (2 Cor. 11:14)

The issue of idolatry in the Body of Christ creates an enormous distraction from the True Light of God’s Love. We are told in this Scripture that the Devil masquerades as an angel of light. His goal is to bring confusion and hide himself in the stuff God values. He wants to destroy the Truth with lies and pervert the grace of God with false promises, false leaders and false worship. What makes Satan hard to defeat is that he appears as attractive, engaging and persuasive …but its all poison.

  • Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. (1 Cor 10:14)

Here Paul is saying that we should avoid any sort of idolatry – run from it. We must not be involved in loving or valuing anything more than God. We often think of idolatry as wicked things we actually worship in place of God; but I want to propose to you that anything that impresses us more than obeying God is an idol. Things can carry influence and give Satan access to our heart.

  • Let me repeat: “…anything that impresses us more than obeying God is an idol”

Take notice of the stuff you protect (1 John 5:21).

The fault does not fall only on the leaders of our congregations. When we esteem others more highly than we should, idolatry has taken root. Priorities can get out of focus and prevent us from hearing or seeing with clarity. Our organized religious model often promotes leadership as those who “hear from God”, give teaching and fight the spiritual battles for us. We tend to enjoy the role of spectator… “service” has been turned into a word that means “entertain us” and we sit rather than do much of anything spiritually.

Called to Do as Jesus Did!

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” (Jn. 14:12)

Being a Christian is a calling to become an ”anointed one” and live in relationship with Christ, The Anointed One (Jn 14:6). Jesus is to be the supernatural resource of light that shines through us. He is the One we emulate and want to reflect to the world around us. Our faith is not about rituals or traditions or relying solely on teachers or pastors. In fact there are no buildings, pews, alters or communion cups that offer deliverance from sin or power over the Devil. The Bible tells us it is the anointing that is given by the Holy Spirit that breaks the yokes of bondage (Isa 10:27) and teaches us all things (1 Jn 2:20).

  • Trusting Christ is the best way to flee from idols!

Do we need accountable relationships? Absolutely, but only Christ offers the power that overcomes darkness and brings peace in the midst of the storms of life. Trust that is not placed into God’s hand is misplaced and falls into the grasp of convenience, neglect or worse… idolatry.

Your Anointing

“Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.” (2 Cor. 1:21-22)
“…you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.” (1 Jn 2:20)
“…the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” (1 Jn. 2:27)

The anointing within – will teach you! What an incredible reality… God has established the anointing for instruction in our spiritual journey. Like many cars rely upon a GPS (Global Positioning System), so also you and I can learn to rely upon our internal guidance system – the Holy Spirit. You know things simply because Jesus lives in you and He is the very personification of wisdom. The Holy Spirit comes to reveal everything Jesus taught and He dwells in you for the purpose of unlocking the mysteries of the Father’s will (Jn. 14:16–17). And this is the anointing that will guide you into all truth (Jn. 16:13).

Ongoing Activity:

The word “anointing” is a gerund, a Latin active noun that expresses ongoing action. This means that it is still happening right now. Today, God leads us by the inner anointing… the presence or absence of peace on the inside. This anointing which abides in you will teach you concerning all things. It will teach you about your finances. It will teach you how to position yourself for breakthrough, it will teach you about your relationships, and best of all, it will teach you about walking with God and offer promptings from the Spirit.

Discernment & Growth:

This doesn’t mean that you don’t need your Bible or spiritual mentors and teachers. We still need to have the Word of God, because the Scripture outlines our direction and purpose, very much like the way a railway directs the train. The Holy Spirit inside you is like the engine of the train where the power to control and propel comes from. For example, you could be listening to some teachings, and the verses that you hear confirm what you know on the inside. What the Apostle John is saying is: “You don’t need anyone to teach you to know God’s leading. The Holy Spirit will teach you.”

  • So, when you meet someone who appears very charming, but you feel uncomfortable on the inside… ask the Lord for His guidance.
  • Before you sign a contract, and there is an absence of peace… ask the Lord for wisdom.
  • Before you make the final decision… ask the Lord for spiritual discernment.

His love offers you this guarantee… your anointing will speak to you!

“Christ” Means Anointed!

“Christ” – is not Jesus’ last name! That word, “Christ” is a significant title that means “Anointed”. It points to more than just a person named Jesus… He was the “Anointed One”. Jesus carried something with Him everywhere He went… the anointing of the Holy Spirit (Lk 4:18)(Acts 10:38). By calling His followers “Christians”; all the world should see that we too, are “little anointed ones”… and that we carry something significant everywhere we go.

Carrying the Anointing:

There were some radical faith words that Jesus spoke that shaped how His followers perceived what they carried. Christ would not be welcomed in many Christian circles today, because He was so dependent upon the anointing of God. He would have been criticized as an extreme faith preacher. But His words are nevertheless the words from the Father and 100% true for all time. Just listen to a few powerful declarations:

  • “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mk 11:23-24).
  • “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My Name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well” (Mk 16:15-18).
  • “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in Me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My Name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask Me for anything in My Name, and I will do it” (Jn 14:12-14).

These are just some of the faith words that Jesus spoke in the New Testament. Are these words reliable? Do they make any difference in your life? Could they represent – truth? Can you believe Him… and believe His words?

…because it will make all the difference in how you carry the anointing!

We are called to carry His anointing everywhere we go (2 Cor 1:21)! It is the Holy Spirit’s power poured out (Acts 1:8) and kept fresh (Acts 4:29-31) that breaks yokes (Isa 10:27) and destroys the works of the devil (1 Jn 3:8). Our lives must be lived with passion and power! Walking uprightly before God means more than just observing all that Jesus taught and left us as an example. We are anointed to carry something that makes an impact on the world around us. This requires power from heaven!

The Anointing is Power… to Serve!

The anointing requires a lifestyle of reaching forward for more of Christ’s power. Its not just information; but spiritual knowledge and faith, that shapes the way we think and act toward the issues we face in life. God still does miracles with simple people like fishermen and housewives. Those who make the decision to trust God’s power rather than become desperate, are people He demonstrates His power through. We are not working out our religious duty, but carrying the same substance that rested upon Jesus, so we can approach problems the same way He approached them.
