Anointed to Fulfill

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.” (Mt. 5:17)

Have you ever noticed that when God calls people in the Bible, He always gives them a job or ministry to do that is beyond their natural ability? Even Jesus comes to Earth with a task that could never have been accomplished without God’s help! Jesus came to fulfill all of the Old Testament Law and the Prophetic Statements made about Him. He would carry the weight of the task laid upon His shoulders as the “Anointed One” – the “Christ” or “Messiah”. And in like manner, we carry the assignments of heaven in the same way; as Christians, “little anointed ones”… so to speak. We have been anointed by God in the same way that Jesus was anointed by the Father (Acts 10:38). We go about doing good deeds and healing all who are oppressed of the devil, because God is with us (Jn. 14:12)(Mt. 28:18). Amazing, yet quite daunting, when you ponder the ramifications of it… cuz’ really – we can’t do any of it without Him!

Its Bigger that You!

So, that God-sized dream knocking on your heart’s door, or that ridiculous passion that seems like more than you can handle in your own strength; it is probably from Him. And here’s why: because its way bigger than you! God has designed us to partner with the Holy Spirit in our service. He uses weak and feeble, ordinary people so that He gets the glory (1 Cor 1:27). But here’s the good news…

He can handle it and He is with you!
