Beholding Glory

“And the Word¬†became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (Jn 1:14)

“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Cor 3:18).

Beholding Glory changes you; not because you can understand or comprehend its quality, but because it calls something up from the inside of you. An image, the image of the One you were created by. You see Jesus is the image of the Father and you and I have that same image knit into our being. We cannot call it out, but He can bring it forth as we gaze into the face of Jesus. Its like looking into a mirror, looking into the Word (Jms 1:23-25) and seeing our reflection… “hey I know that person, its me”. Me? Really? God has shone a light upon my heart and the more I look into the face of Christ, the more I see who I am really meant to be.

  • “For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Cor 4:6).
