Favorable Expectations

Favor is a Tree of Life

Your level of favor will rise to your level of expectation. If you expect the worst from people you often get it; but if you have favorable expectations of others and believe the best in them, the effect will promote you in their eyes.

Promotion is a key spiritual principle of God’s Word.

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole Earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars” (2 Chron. 16:9).

God is looking for people to promote.

Did you catch the fact that our loyalty draws the attention of God? “Loyalty” in this case, is a confident belief that God is reliable and worthy of our trust. When we are loyal to God, it would appear that He releases His favor toward us. Yet it also appears that our lack of loyalty leads to a tragic outcome.

Wars are mentioned here as our foolish lack of loyalty.

Notice this strange exhortation given to the beautiful Jewish girl named Esther. ”If you remain completely silent at this time deliverance and enlargement will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the Kingdom for such a time as this”(Esther 4:14). Mordecai explains to Esther that the deliverance God was planning for the Jews had her name on it. God wanted to use Esther. She was in the right place at the right time; but her expectations made a difference upon her involvement.

Not every assignment God gives ends in a promotion, because most call for a loyal heart of obedience.

This opportunity was not put upon her to crush her, but to display God’s Glory and promote her into a significant position. Favor was the key as she measured her ability to do God’s will in these circumstances. Was God good? Could she really believe God’s timing, God’s heart and God’s plan for her life? She understood God’s favor and expected God’s hand to bring the deliverance He had promised.

Indeed God did as He had promised and deliverance was achieved, because of Esthers faith.

We each have a destiny that is established upon moments of opportunity that require our faith in the favor of God. God loves me and wants only good for me! Its this favorable expectation; this “faith” that moves us into our promotion.

Will we trust God? Will we display a loyal heart?

Financial decisions or building relationships all require trust and obedience. The questions may at the time seem small, but our promotion hinges upon our faith. Proper expectations help us find the “deliverance and enlargement” that God wants to release into our lives.

Perceptions are tied to posture in God’s Kingdom!

Peter said “humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due season” (1 Pet. 5:6).  You miss taking the proper posture and you will also miss your season of promotion. The good news though; if you understand the favor of God, you will expect God to move in accordance with His promise and never miss your season of promotion.
