Looking for Church

Jesus declares, “…on this rock (revelation of Himself) I will build My Church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Mt. 16:18-19)

Recently, I went looking for Church.

I met a guy from Uganda who said, “I have a church under a tree.” And that church had planted 6 other churches. And some of those churches had planted dozens of other churches themselves. Today, they have a Bible College that attracts over 200 students. They didn’t have buildings and still have no formal place to call home. They meet in huts and mud houses… and yet the multiplication is nothing short of amazing.

How do they do it… simply put, “They make disciples!”

“That’s all!”

The more we complicate the Kingdom system with programs and buildings, the more we stifle church multiplication. The Word of God and the Spirit of God – that’s all we need.

Isn’t it amazing that the largest increase in the size of the church came on the day of Pentecost. No program, no building – just the Spirit of God and the Truth of the gospel message.
Still works today – God never changes. Less of me, more of Him.
Blessings on you and those who follow in His footsteps.
