His Word to You

Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!” (Lk 1:28)

Here we have the amazing story of how Mary was visited by the angel Gabriel who told her she would become the mother of the Messiah. Naturally Mary was shocked and asked how such a thing could be, since she was a virgin. The angel did not go into a longwinded explanation, but simply told her “the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you” (Lk 1:35). That was good enough for Mary and she responded with a powerful declaration of faith: “Let it be to me according to Your Word”.

Discovering Favor:

That simple reply is at the heart of the mystery of answered prayer. Mary came to believe that as a virgin she would become pregnant and give birth to Israel’s long awaited Messiah. There were probably a lot of young Jewish women that might have hoped for that privilege, but Mary didn’t just hope it – she lived it. She knew a secret, because God had revealed His Word to her. Yet, she would come to live it out, only as she discovered her favored estate with God. For Mary to have felt favored by God would seem normal and expected in Jewish households, but a divine revelation from the angel Gabriel would have certainly emphasized its reality.

Favor Establishes Faith:

Now there would be nothing absurd about Mary’s belief in God, because she was finding His favor in His Word to her. It was rooted firmly in the Word of God’s supernatural encounter. God’s Word to her made faith… reality and had made the ridiculous… reasonable. As the angel told her, “With God nothing will be impossible!” I can almost hear a shout of “Amen!” as she embraced the words. “I am Your maidservant! Let it be to me according to Your Word.”

Receive His Favor:

Most of us are not likely to experience a visitation from Gabriel, but we have encounters with the Holy Spirit waiting for our embrace right now. The Bible is filled with words for us from God and there are angels that accompany our activities everyday. As Kingdom Agents, we are designed to walk in the favor of God and establish an atmosphere around our lives that allow His voice to become recognizable.

Like a fragrance, Mary found that favor longs to be discovered. You can be told that it is there, but it must be received and experienced, to be sought out and appreciated. God’s Word to you is like Mary’s secret, dependant upon your willingness to recognize His favor.

Transforming Culture

Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” (Mt. 28:18-19)

Have you understood your mission… as a quest to disciple nations!

RevivalHut Ministry is connecting Christian leaders, who will plug into a 3 year training program… to an unfathomable adventure in Kingdom Pursuits. We call these spiritual incubators – Apostolic Training Centers. They are not just Bible Studies, but a life course… like a journey that molds raw humanity into true disciples of Christ. There are so many important transitions that must be made within our mindsets and our personal convictions in order to fulfill the mandate of Jesus, who said “pick up your cross and follow Me”.

I would like for you to consider your fellow Christian brothers as leaders and part of your team… a Kingdom Team! You will not be in competition for anything, but looking to advance the Kingdom for the benefit of all the churches in the region, as well as all the people within reach of those congregations. We are aiming at transforming the culture… beliefs, activities and governing structures must be looked at through a new and fresh perspective – through the Biblical Truth revealed in Jesus.

7 Mountains of Influence:

“Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it.” (Isaiah 2:2)

We promote the idea that all societies emerge and define themselves by 7 platforms or spheres of influence…

1) family, 2) education, 3) government, 4) business, 5) the arts & entertainment 6) media & communication and 7) religion.

If our goal is to transform culture, then we as God’s Kingdom People must be disciplined and authentic; as well as being lead by the Holy Spirit. We need to see ministry as part of every sphere of society and we need to make an impact. We need Kingdom minded Business People, Entertainers, Scientists, Government Officials, etc. – and we need to gain ground in the arenas of the spirit by ruling well in the midst of the opportunities God offers us.

So the key is to know God and understand that He created these models of influence and understands how they should function properly from His perspective. We must be trained in spiritual truth so that we can obey the prayer of Jesus (Mt. 6:10) praying, believing and demonstrating Kingdom Impact – “that His Kingdom would come and His Will would be done on earth as it is in heaven”. We believe the Bible speaks directly to us and unlocks the truth of how God’s People can become His disciples and walk in His Glory, ruling well and releasing cultural transformation.

And we are watching it happen in regions all over the world.

The Strategies: Psalm 133

Some of the steps that are important are 1) developing networks of visionary Christian leaders, 2) gathering these leaders for prayer and training sessions, 3) encouraging one another and celebrating achievements as a team and 4) honoring one another as fruitful laborers in the vineyard within our reach. As Psalm 133 proclaims to us… that is where God commands the blessing! In the midst of anointed Kingdom minded Leaders – united for the purpose of advancing God’s agendas in the Earth.

This is the basis for the RevivalHut Network. This is the priority that sustains revival fire and a passion for cultural change. Our hope is to empower leaders to see themselves differently, yet consider that God sees ministry in all arenas of life not just pulpit ministry, like those who preach as pastor or teacher. We invite ladies and men, we encourage business people and educators and develop passion for the community we serve, because we believe the Church must become the unified force for change in the Earth. Its not about how many people come to our churches, but how many leaders are influencing the culture for the Kingdom of God. Yes we see wonderful Church growth, but even more we see practical changes being made in society.

“…teaching them to observe all the things I have committed to you; and lo I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Mt. 28:20)

Access to Glory

Lake Victoria

Our access to God’s Glory is through entering into His Presence. We enter the gates of God’s Presence with thanksgiving and step into the courts of His Glory with praise (Ps 100:4-5). The Psalmist tells us that in doing this we will experience God’s goodness, mercy and truth in ways that both transform and increase from generation to generation.

The Glory Realm:

When we spend time in God’s Presence, we are accessing the Glory Realm. Its an atmosphere that revives the heart and renews the mind of the believer. I remind folks often that we enter the Glory Realm through the Presence, because Scripture clearly tells us that Jesus is the only Door into the Father’s heart. Through activities like praying, meditating on the Words of Christ, praise and worship, and looking into His eyes, our faces reflect His influence in our hearts. At the same time, we are being changed on the inside so that our lives begin to reflect His character. As we are transformed in this way the supernatural light that radiates within us illumines our path and increases with even greater splendor.

Moses Our Example:

“When Moses came down from Mt. Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands he was not aware that his face was radiant, because he had spoken with the Lord. When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him. When Moses was finished speaking to them, he put a veil over his face. But whenever he entered the Lord’s presence to speak with Him, he removed the veil until he came out. And when he came out and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, they saw that his face was radiant. Then Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with the Lord.” (Ex 34:29-35).

Glory is Visible:

From this passage, it is abundantly clear that the Glory of God on Moses was visible; it was not merely a spiritual or moral characteristic. His face was radiant. This means that there was a shining or a glow about it. We also observe a cause and effect relationship here. Whenever Moses would spend time in the Lord’s presence and speak with the Lord, this glory would appear on his face. We also know that this was limited to Moses at that time, as it did not happen to all the Israelites. It was so unusual that everyone else who saw him was afraid of the splendor radiating from his face. That’s why he covered up his face with a veil.

New Covenant Access:

Now under the New Covenant, the Glory Realm is not limited to one man. All believers have access to God’s Presence and the Glory that radiated from the face of Moses is available to all who know Him. In fact, this glory is even more glorious than what Moses experienced. Notice how the Apostle Paul spoke of the ministry of the Spirit to the Corinthians:

“Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with Glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its Glory, fading though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness?” (2 Cor 3:7-9)

The Ministry of the Spirit comes with even more Glory!

“Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at it while the radiance was fading away…But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” (2 Cor 3:12-13 & 16-18).

Spirit of Unbelief

Crushing the Spirit of Unbelief

Many followers of Christ have a limited “believer”. I know that sounds like a strange statement, but sometimes unseen barriers, like brick walls hold us back. I am convinced that there are irrational issues inside of us; demonic in nature, that limit our ability to engage faith.

Faith & Spiritual Life:

Its similar to the ignition of a car. We might turn the key and get some sound, but if the engine has no spark it will never start and never move us down the road. Ignition is simply the spark that starts an engine. Faith is the spark inside that ignites the heart to trust God, to love God and believe in His promises for our lives.

The Stubborn Heart:

The inability to obey the instructions of Jesus and trust in the Promises of God, often leads to frustration. We want to please the Lord and experience all that God has said, but something in us resists faith. We find we “cannot” believe even when we want to. This can be due to a spirit of unbelief. Lies, deception, fears or offences can find their dwelling in the heart and be controlled by a demonic spirit that paralizes the heart in unbelief.

The Frustration:

My ”old man” was unbelieving to the bitter end, but I remember receiving Christ and being confident that all things would become new (2 Cor 5:17). The carnal part of me was now fully engaged in a battle with God’s truth, and I recall feeling that I could not submit to God’s ways (Rom 8:7). I couldn’t please God, because I had no faith in His purpose for me (Heb 11:6). The spirit of unbelief made me feel like I was living in a fog.

Deliverance from Unbelief:

Praise God, there is deliverance from the spirit of unbelief, but it doesn’t come without a fight. Those controlling spirits get into our ”believer” and go unchallenged until we learn to break covenant with their activities. While Satan will do all in his power to resist the Word of God and get us to accept mediocrity, God has a destiny of freedom in store for us. Our history does not have to be our destiny.

My Personal Testimony:

I remember feeling tormented in my soul as I struggled with my own unbelief in relation to the Word of God. I would listen to lots of great teaching and study the Bible with other strong believers. Yet the truth would make little impact upon me. Every revelation was encountering resistence in my mind and heart. I noticed it most when I chose to make spiritual commitments to obey God. There was no power within my life to release faith.

Break Covenant:

It wasn’t until I made a decision from the heart to love God and fight for His Fatherhood in my life, that I really came to understand the problem. Even though this was only the first step to victory, it was a powerful step. I broke the covenant I had made in my heart to trust Satanic lies. I needed to become violent in order to break the demonic control and sever the spiritual captivity in my heart. What I could renounce and break free from just kept giving me more freedom. Soon I found a boldness to believe God and trust His promises that I had never experienced before.

Release the Spirit of Faith:

Overcoming unbelief came as I gained the ability to release the Spirit of Faith. I could rest in the power of the Holy Spirit and experience Him as the Spirit of Faith spoken of in Scripture. Faith is a gift of the Holy Spirit, as well as a fruit of the Holy Spirit. It was released more and more as I allowed the Spirit of God to penetrate my thoughts and permeate my prayer life. It was an amazing process that required a few seasons of fasting, but awakened my heart to enormous breakthrough. It literally crushed the spirit of unbelief.
