Real Anointing

“Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God,” (2 Cor 1:21)

No question, it is God who anoints us with the Holy Spirit and establishes us together as ministers of the Gospel. We have been set apart with an incredible calling. We all have a ministry; for some its hospitality, for others intercession or evangelism… yet for every one of us there is an anointing that accompanies the gift and makes it effective in the world around us. God is dreaming big dreams and asking us to partner with Him in fulfilling His purpose upon the Earth.

Obeying God puts a demand upon our lives.

We must break out of small places and small thinking. The Prophet Zechariah said, “Not by might, nor by power; but by My Spirit says the Lord of Hosts” (Zech 4:6). This amazing declaration gets to the point… the impossible can only be accomplished by the Spirit of the Lord. Yet God does it through the human instrument, frail and incapable. God anoints and commissions His Child with the Holy Spirit and power.

“You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you shall be witnesses to Me… to the end of the Earth.” (Acts 1:8)

If we aim to carry the real anointing of the Holy Spirit, we must recognize the fact that God is not looking for talent or skills. He is looking for those who have made themselves available to be entrusted with the eternal message of Christ… “the Anointed One”. He is looking for someone He can wear like a glove and use to demonstrate His glory.

Valiant Laborers

“And the Word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region.” (Acts 13:49)

“Let the saints be joyful in glory, let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth and a two-edged sword in their hand.” (Ps. 149:5-6)

We mount our assault on the portals of hell and against us they shall not stand! The valiant of heart are those whose laborers are noted by courage, passion and alignment to the Word of God. These marks are the standard where soldiers emerge and warriors take shape. Indeed, the character of heaven is revealed in no better way than when God’s Saints are clothed in the power of the Holy Spirit and accompanied by angels. The advancement of the Kingdom of God is a violent overthrow of the works of the devil! It requires God’s anointing and the character to follow His heart!

No matter how we define a move of God in our day or in the days of the Early Church… we must not miss the prophetic reality of following God’s heart. One of Luke’s purposes in writing the Book of Acts was to tell the real story of the remarkable growth of God’s Kingdom. Amazing things took place in the years that followed the birth of the Church. An outpouring of the Holy Spirit clothed the Apostles with power to become witnesses in the world (Acts 1:8). Although, persecution and struggle shaped their character, never do we hear the cry of retreat. This was the work of God! Humanity’s greatest discovery was how to be filled with the Holy Spirit… and walk as carriers of the Glory of God!

This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel (or any servant of God):
“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,”

Says the Lord of hosts. (Zech. 4:6)

A Valiant Vision:

To see entire regions waiting, cultures and people groups ready to be reached with the love and power of the Gospel of the Kingdom. Our call, requires a company of valiant laborers with fresh eyes… with a vision to disciple the nations (Mt. 28:18-20). We must be found teaching and building bridges of opportunity for generations to walk in God’s destiny for their lives. Should we not stand willing and ready to risk it all for the purposes of God’s heart? Yet in order to risk it all, it will require a vision of how God sees and what God wants to accomplish.

The Prophet Habakkuk said it this way: “For the Earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” (Hab. 2:14)

God is Speaking!

These are New Days in almost every culture of the world, and the sound of a spiritual trumpet has gone forth. Many with an ear to hear have already begun to assemble. To some its a whisper and to others a shout, yet there is no mistaking its purpose in this season. Its God’s invitation that is being proclaimed on the battle field and in the vineyard. Our Father has a voice that echoes on every high place… causing the nations to give birth. He is calling the weary, the lost and forsaken. His sound summons the alien to come sit at His Throne (Heb. 4:16). And from this motley, misguided lot; He will redeem and restore and revive. This is the day of the harvest, a season of in-gathering as in the time of first fruits. And the valiant rejoice in the pleasure of God. They celebrate with heaven in what is witnessed in their generation, because it was birthed in the Father’s heart long ago! (1 Pe 2:9-10)

Releasing Revival in East Africa

I want to ask our readers to pray with us about my upcoming trip into the nation of Kenya. I leave today to speak for a Conference (Dec. 12-15) in Eldoret under the leadership of Pastor Lucas Maina. You might recall his testimony of three years ago hearing me preach, receiving prayer and God turned his ministry upside-down… his congregation grew from 30 to over 1000 people in just this short time. But better yet, almost all of this growth was due to door to door evangelism… new converts! God totally transformed Pastor Mainas’ vision for ministry. He once believed he was the builder of his church, but now he has learned to let go and allow Jesus to build the Church and Lucas is busy advancing the Kingdom, one soul at a time.

I believe it is time to give the nation of Kenya to God!

God is Speaking – A Now Word:

Last week I had a vision of angels carrying torches and lighting the fires of revival in many places across the nations of Africa and on into the world. I believe it is time to pray and cry out to God for revival fires in every city and every hungry heart across the Earth. Yet as I go into the Continent of Africa and step onto soil that is rich with prophetic history – I am struck by the sensation that the time is Now! These are days of great expectation in every nation I enter.

Pray for Fresh Fire:

May the Lord kindle fresh fire upon us individually, on our churches, and in the nations. May the former days of outpouring be eclipsed by what God does in our time… and with our voices. Let us lay hold of our future and not let go until the Lord gives us His supernatural fire. Let us push back the spirits of apathy, unbelief, witchcraft, and religion and release the fire of God’s Spirit. We are seeing a release of signs and wonders, and healing miracles out in the bush, among the gathering villagers in churches and cities. Its now – that we begin to stretch forth the nets and offer God the bountiful gift of a harvest of souls from East Africa. Let us claim entire tribes, families and cultures for the Kingdom of God. May that fire kindle a new call to missions and a fresh energy for the work that they are doing.

Cry out with us here at RevivalHut Ministries, for visitation and fresh fire in our day in the nations of East Africa. So many are giving their lives, their finances and their voice to the work… and although God will spend His best for the least, nothing is wasted when placed in His hands! We still believe in the original blue print – and the power of the Holy Spirit!

Zech. 4:6 “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”

Acts 2:2-4, “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Ps. 90:16, “Let us see your miracles again; let our children see Your glory at work.”

And all the Saints said – AMEN!

Faith Character

Here are just a few of the things that great people of faith have accomplished: They “subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle and turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again. And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection. Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes and of chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented- of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth” (Heb. 11:33-38).

Faith in God:

What a powerful reality! What a motivating message! The world has yet to see what we can accomplish through faith in God! You and I are called to trust and access Christ-like character through our faith (Rom. 5:1-2). To develop a “so be it” kind of character that responds to challenges in life… just like Jesus.

  • Temptations require us to know the Word of God and speak, “It is written!” (Mt. 4:4)
  • Storms and impossibilities require our voice to shift the atmosphere, “Peace be still!” (Mk. 4:39)
  • Sickness and disease require an anointing that releases heavenly authority, “Arise and walk!” (Lk. 5:24)

Four times Jesus said, “All things are possible” (Mt. 19:26, Mk. 9:23, Mk. 10:27, Mk. 14:36). With God all things are possible. All things are possible to him that believes. You can go anywhere, be anything, and accomplish anything. It all depends on how much faith you have in God. Remind yourself, ”it is not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord of hosts”  (Zech 4:6).

Character of a Spiritual House:

Faith must be seen as the foundation stone of our spiritual house (Mt. 7:24-27)! What a powerful platform from which to operate! The Bible defines faith as: ”…the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen”  (Heb. 11:1). Seeing is often a hindrance to our vision and can leave us lacking the character to endure what we cannot understand. What we must remember is that our journey reaches far beyond our earthly assignment or personal destination. We are following God in order to leave a legacy for the next generation to step into. The character of a spiritual house is all about the fathers and their vision… Can it be written upon the hearts of those who hear our story?

“But what does it say? The Word is close to you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the Word of faith, which we preach; That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.” (Rom. 10:8-10)
