Change is Coming

Scripture: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23-24)

Thought for Today: “Welcoming the Crucible”

God knows the secrets of the heart (Ps 44:21). In fact, He knows us better than we know ourselves. Yet we still feel a bit vulnerable yielding our lives to change. We ask God to use us and we know changes are coming, but being in the crucible of spiritual discipline can feel uncomfortable even to the most mature Christian.

Our Resistance:

When God tests and tries our heart, there are always things that firmly resist, because they have become our safety net. We have relied upon ourselves and trusted in own strength at times when we could not see clearly. The Apostle Paul tells us that many have exchanged the Truth of God for lies by serving and the worship of things that offer no real peace (Rom 1:25). He reminds us that we have all gone astray and fallen short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23). These issues represent the baggage of idolatry and must be rooted out for us to enjoy the freedom found in Christ.

Real Transformation:

As much as we would like to believe we can change, transformation is not really something we can do for ourselves. It takes the power of the One who knows us best. We can change habits and shift our focus, but it is God who changes the human heart. When we step into the crucible of prayer and fasting, we make the most important move toward God’s best for our lives. The refining process frees us from sinful behavior, renews our thinking and enables us to discern the will of God more clearly (Rom 12:1-2).

God Loves and Receives Us:

Transformation happens in the safe place of His Presence, where the Holy Spirit gains access to those things that hinder our progress. God knows what is best for us and He always acts in our best interest by treating us as sons and daughters (Heb 12:4-11). We are reminded that when we are chastened by God, it is because He loves us and receives us as a father cherishes and loves his child. Remind yourself today that God loves and receives you as His very own son or daughter.

“Why do you spend money on what is not bread and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen diligently to Me and eat what is good and let your soul delight itself in abundance.” (Isa 55:2)

Ascending the Mountain

“It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be [firmly] established as the highest of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow to it. And many people shall come and say, Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that He may teach us His ways and that we may walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law and instruction, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem” (Isa 2:2-3 Amp).

The Mountain of the Lord is the highest mountain of all. There is no other mountain, government, or kingdom that compares to the Kingdom of our God in the Earth. All of the nations will flow into it and they will encourage each other and say, “Come! Let us go up to the mountain of the Lord… that He may teach us His ways and that we may walk in His paths!”  God speaks through the Prophet Habakkuk saying, “But [the time is coming when] the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea” (Hab 2:14 Amp).

Why Take the Risk?

Its the Glory of the Lord that compels us to go. The knowledge of the Glory of the Lord will be seen, be increasing and demonstrated by a generation of Sons and Daughters who have taken the risk. These who know God and have been instructed in His ways. They will live on the Mountain of the Lord and release a supernatural reality of God to the world.

The Invitation is Clear:

The Lord is saying to the Church in this hour, “Come up to the Mountain with Me… and be there. I simply want you to be with Me on the Mountain as a friend. You don’t have to do anything or be anything for Me… just be there with Me.”

It is here that the Lord will reveal all of His treasured secrets and cause us to ride upon the high places with Him. He has favor on those He chooses to have favor and He is looking for friends to pour out His favor and blessing.

Ascending as Friends:

Jesus told His disciples that they were no longer His servants, but His friends (Jn 15:15). Friends He could tell all of His secrets and everything He heard from the Father. He also said, “To you has been entrusted the mystery of the Kingdom of God [that is, the secret counsels of God which are hidden from the ungodly]; but for those outside [of our circle] everything becomes a parable” (Mk 4:11 Amp). We have been given the privilege to know and understand the mysteries of the Kingdom and the secret counsels of the eternal God. He wants to teach us His ways, but it requires our willing responsibility.

Let us therefore come boldly, ascending the Mountain of God, being fully there and learn His ways… so that we are a manifestation of His purposes in the Earth!

In the Crucible

Today is day 9 in our 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting

Scripture: Psalm 139:23-24

Remnant Reality

The Spirit of God is gathering people from all parts of the global landscape as part of His remnant. Those that have eyes to see and ears to hear are paying attention to what He has to say.

  • God told the Prophet Elijah there were 7,000 just like him that had not kissed the face of Baal and Jezebel (1 Kings 19:18).
  • He gave Gideon 300 faithful, courageous and alert warriors that brought deliverance to a nation (Judges 7:7).
  • David fought with mighty men that helped transition the kingdom out of Saul’s religious control (2 Samuel 3:1).
  • Jesus baptized 120 with Holy Spirit power in the Upper Room and they turned the world upside down (Acts 2:1-4).

The Spirit of God is gathering His remnant, hungry warriors just like you that want to make a difference with their lives. What you feel in your spirit is the awakening of “Sonship” (Rom 8:18-19). Father is calling His Sons and His Daughters to arise with a glistening reflection of His countenance upon their faces (Isa 60:1-2).

The Deeper Mandate:

Its a significant reality that pulls from deep places of the heart, more impacting than most passing spiritual hungers. Those hungers you feed with common Bible Studies and fellowship groups, but this is more of a  mandate. A demand is being made upon our sense of passion and purpose. Its as if God is asking for more from us today than in times past and the anointing upon our lives must increase as well.

A New Fabric:

This remnant is a “new fabric” formed through intercession (Heb 7:25) and ripped from the cloth of a priestly garment. God seems to be calling for His five-fold ministers to align and engage for strategic assignments. The good news is that you are not alone, if you feel the tugging upon your heart. There are thousands just like you that God has preserved in wilderness places. They are spiritual reformers and revolutionaries of righteousness. They are the revivalists that have been waiting in the trenches of institutional structures holding on to the power of God, in the face of opposition.

Shaking Reveals a Governing Strength!

In a world where everything that can be shaken is now shaking, the One True Government of God is beginning to arise. Its the government of the heart, that is awakened by the Voice of our True Shepherd. Its that anointed government found only on the shoulders of the One called “Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace” (Isa 9:6-7), yet it is advanced among a Kingdom People filled with the Knowledge of the Glory of His Presence (Hab 2:14). Scripture declares that the gates of hell shall not prevail against this Church (Mt 16:18), for its the habitation of God by His Spirit (Eph 2:22). It’s exciting to know that you were born for such a time as this, a time when the enemy’s entrance has raised the standard of Zion’s determination (Isa 59:19).

The Zeal of Zion, God’s Remnant:

The Holy Spirit is saying “Only the Sons of God, walking in the Holy Spirit can manifest the Kingdom” (Isa 52:6). As the shaking continues, the Remnant Church will arise out of obscurity and again walk in His Spirit manifesting signs, wonders and miracles, confirming once again that Jesus is the Christ, raised from the dead and Lord of all the Earth.

Signs Following

Nothing less than... all.

When we as a Christian people find ourselves in need, we look to God in humble reliance and prayer. Our belief is set in the context of His promises. The Apostle Peter wrote that God’s, “…divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue” (2 Pet 1:3-4).

The incredible goal of Peter, was to show us the process of getting our needs met, our lives engaged and our ministries growing to advance the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. He tells us that; because we have escaped a corruption that is in the world through sensual lust and arrogance, we may be partakers of the “divine nature”. You might ask, “what is a divine nature?” Well, that is a good question, because it kinda sounds like we become godlike …and in a way we do.

The divine nature is life by God’s promises.

Not a set of doctrines, but a level of reality where God’s facts become your facts. Notice that in Peter’s statement about God’s power meeting our needs, that they are hinged to our knowledge of Him. Our knowledge of God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit lays the platform for the divine nature to have influence in and upon us. Now before you get concerned about how little you know about God, realize Peter is not talking about trivial information, but intimate relationship. The stuff that connects our hearts together. What you know about God should not be based upon data or trivial facts, but evidence that has been proven through personal relationship. You have escaped corruption to become God’s child. As sons and daughters, we relate to our Father with a bold awareness of promised access and privileges… eating at His table, asking whatever we desire and resting our heads upon His breast. These are the joys of fellowship with God. It is rich and full of spiritual knowledge that renews our minds and transforms our behavior. We begin to live out of this new set of priorities, “facts” if you will, that are experienced in His Presence, but become our reality.

Knowing our Heavenly Father intimately, trusting Christ passionately and following the leading of the Holy Spirit completely; these are the tools that accomplish a lifestyle of partaking of the divine nature. His reality is becoming our reality! Its increasing daily and the fruit of this kind of lifestyle becomes a resource for everyone we come into contact with.

  • “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.” (Acts 4:13)
  • “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.” (Mk 16:17-18)
