Encountering Glory

The Glory of the Lord is the most awesome sight in Heaven. It moves the Angels to sing of His holiness and bow to His majesty. Although, the Glory of the Lord may be experienced; it is often misunderstood and seen as a rare occurrence here upon the Earth. The Bible talks about the Glory in many ways in both the Old and New Testaments. Still it remains only a vague concept to most Christians. It is my belief, that the Glory of God should be a central focus for the Church and a passion for all who long to know Truth.

“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” (Hab. 2:14)

In Scripture, Moses contends for God’s Presence with a passionate plea, ”If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” (Ex 33:15-17). We need to contend for the Presence of God in our lives and never settle for our perception of reality.  Note that Moses pulled upon God’s Presence with earnest expectation and God says, “I will do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.”  He wanted God’s Presence to go with him, but he wanted something greater. He wanted to see evidence of God’s goodness and encounter His Glory.

He said, “Please, show me Your glory” (Ex 33:18).

What a prayer! He not only wanted to know that God was with him, he insisted upon the manifestation of that Presence… God’s goodness. We could say, he wanted God’s Presence made known to him, made visible and tangible. Think about it… if Moses could see the Glory of God, why shouldn’t we?

I believe as a Child of God; I can see the Glory too.

We must understand that the whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord. The Bible speaks about our ability to see the Glory with the eyes of faith.

  • “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the Glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Cor 3:18)

The Bible also points to where we find the knowledge of the Glory of God.

  • “For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Cor. 4:6)

Spending time alone beholding Him and worshiping Him, will cause us to have a greater hunger for His Presence and His revealed Glory in our lives. Seeing Him in the pages of God’s Word and knowing that there is more of God available in our lives, will cause us to search for deeper experiences with Him. We can begin to have Glory encounters of our own, where we get firsthand knowledge of His goodness and His power.

Hunger for the Glory

The Glory of the Lord is the most awesome reality of Heaven.

Just consider for a moment the experience that King Solomon was able to share with us at the completion of the Temple in 2 Chronicles 6-7.

Then Solomon spoke: “The Lord said He would dwell in the dark cloud. I have surely built You an exalted house, and a place for You to dwell in forever (2 Chr. 6:1-2). Now, my God, I pray, let Your eyes be open and let Your ears be attentive to the prayer made in this place. Now therefore, Arise, Oh Lord God, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength. Let Your priests, Oh Lord God, be clothed with salvation, and let Your saints rejoice in goodness. Oh Lord God, do not turn away the face of Your Anointed; remember the mercies of Your servant David.” (2 Chr. 6:1-2 & 40-42)
When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the Glory of the Lord filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord, because the Glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house. When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the Glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and praised the Lord, saying: “For He is good, for His mercy endures forever.” (2 Chr. 7:1-3)

“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” (Hab. 2:14)

Moses Gives Insight:

Moses contends for God’s Presence… with a passionate plea, we hear his desperation, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” (Ex 33:15-17). We need to contend for the Presence of God in our lives and never settle for our perception of reality. Note that Moses pulled upon God’s heart with an earnest expectation of going beyond the Presence and seeing something more… encountering something more. And God says, “I will do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.” He wanted God’s Presence to go with him, but he wanted something greater… something visible, tangible and real. He wanted to see evidence of God’s goodness and encounter His Glory.

He said, “Please, show me Your Glory!” (Ex 33:18).

What a prayer! He not only wanted to know that God was with him, he insisted upon the manifestation of that Presence… God’s goodness. We could say, he wanted God’s Presence made known to him, a manifestation… made visible and tangible. Think about it… if Moses could see the Glory of God, why shouldn’t we? Why can’t we see His Glory?

I believe as a Child of God, we can see the Glory! (Heb. 1:3)

The Bible speaks about our ability to see the Glory with the eyes of faith. We must understand that the whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord.

  • ”But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the Glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Cor 3:18)

The Bible also points to where we find the knowledge of the Glory of God.

  • ”For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Cor. 4:6)

Look Into the Face of Jesus:

Spending time beholding Him and worshiping at His Throne, takes us somewhere in the spirit. It transforms our sense of reality and moves our heart into intimate places with the heart of God. These encounters deepen our knowledge of how love and grace are imparted, because we are introduced to heaven’s atmosphere. These encounters cause us to have a greater hunger for His Voice and His revealed Glory in our lives. Seeing Him in the pages of God’s Word is just the beginning… faith inspires a deeper search, knowing that there is more available for our lives. Deep cries out to deep… we go deeper and we begin to have Glory encounters of our own, where we gain firsthand knowledge of His goodness and His power.

You and I were made to drink of His Spirit and share in His Glory! (1 Cor 12:13)

Valiant Laborers

“And the Word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region.” (Acts 13:49)

“Let the saints be joyful in glory, let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth and a two-edged sword in their hand.” (Ps. 149:5-6)

We mount our assault on the portals of hell and against us they shall not stand! The valiant of heart are those whose laborers are noted by courage, passion and alignment to the Word of God. These marks are the standard where soldiers emerge and warriors take shape. Indeed, the character of heaven is revealed in no better way than when God’s Saints are clothed in the power of the Holy Spirit and accompanied by angels. The advancement of the Kingdom of God is a violent overthrow of the works of the devil! It requires God’s anointing and the character to follow His heart!

No matter how we define a move of God in our day or in the days of the Early Church… we must not miss the prophetic reality of following God’s heart. One of Luke’s purposes in writing the Book of Acts was to tell the real story of the remarkable growth of God’s Kingdom. Amazing things took place in the years that followed the birth of the Church. An outpouring of the Holy Spirit clothed the Apostles with power to become witnesses in the world (Acts 1:8). Although, persecution and struggle shaped their character, never do we hear the cry of retreat. This was the work of God! Humanity’s greatest discovery was how to be filled with the Holy Spirit… and walk as carriers of the Glory of God!

This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel (or any servant of God):
“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,”

Says the Lord of hosts. (Zech. 4:6)

A Valiant Vision:

To see entire regions waiting, cultures and people groups ready to be reached with the love and power of the Gospel of the Kingdom. Our call, requires a company of valiant laborers with fresh eyes… with a vision to disciple the nations (Mt. 28:18-20). We must be found teaching and building bridges of opportunity for generations to walk in God’s destiny for their lives. Should we not stand willing and ready to risk it all for the purposes of God’s heart? Yet in order to risk it all, it will require a vision of how God sees and what God wants to accomplish.

The Prophet Habakkuk said it this way: “For the Earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” (Hab. 2:14)

God is Speaking!

These are New Days in almost every culture of the world, and the sound of a spiritual trumpet has gone forth. Many with an ear to hear have already begun to assemble. To some its a whisper and to others a shout, yet there is no mistaking its purpose in this season. Its God’s invitation that is being proclaimed on the battle field and in the vineyard. Our Father has a voice that echoes on every high place… causing the nations to give birth. He is calling the weary, the lost and forsaken. His sound summons the alien to come sit at His Throne (Heb. 4:16). And from this motley, misguided lot; He will redeem and restore and revive. This is the day of the harvest, a season of in-gathering as in the time of first fruits. And the valiant rejoice in the pleasure of God. They celebrate with heaven in what is witnessed in their generation, because it was birthed in the Father’s heart long ago! (1 Pe 2:9-10)

Father, Your Valiant Laborers Stand Willing & Ready!

Willing and Ready

“And the Word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region.” (Acts 13:49)

One of Luke’s purposes in writing the Book of Acts was to tell the real story of the remarkable growth of the Church. Amazing things took place in the years that followed the Holy Spirit clothing the Apostles with power to become witnesses in the world (Acts 1:8). No matter how we define this move of God in the Early Church, we must not miss the prophetic reality of Kingdom Advancement. There are regions waiting, cultures and people groups ready to be reached with the love and power of the Gospel of the Kingdom. And our calling is to disciple the nations (Mt. 28:18-20), teaching and building bridges of opportunity for generations to walk in God’s destiny for their lives. Should we not stand willing and ready to risk it all for the purposes of God’s heart?

The Prophet Habakkuk said it this way: “For the Earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” (Hab. 2:14)

God’s Invitation:

These are New Days on the African landscape and the sound of a spiritual trumpet blast has gone forth from the heart of God. Many with an ear to hear have already begun to assemble. To some its a whisper and to others a shout, yet there is no mistaking its purpose in this season. Its God’s invitation that is being proclaimed in the vineyard. And the laborers carry a fresh clarity of passion in their steps. The prayer that sets the tone of our commission is simple: “Father release Your Power and Let Your Kingdom Come – Let Your Will be Done, On Earth as it is in Heaven!”

God is Hearing & Responding!

Our Father has a voice that opens the regions… gathers the nations and calls for the alien to come sit at His Throne (Heb. 4:16). This is like the time of ingathering, like the Old Testament day of first fruits. We shall rejoice and be glad in what we are witnessing in our generation! (1 Pe 2:9-10)

The Laborers Stand Willing & Ready!

Email from Apostle Fredrick Ochieno of Nairobi, Kenya:

  • Praise God, I hope you are good in the Lord. How is the ministry? We are praying for you and your ministry, that the good work the Lord has begun across our land shall continue with increase. Our God, He may bring to accomplishment! Pastor Zedekiah, our mutual friend in Kampala, Uganda has been asking me if we have been communicating. He understands our working together will be of great inpact in the Kingdom. I want to break through all silence by saying - God has a great plan for us! I need you Man of God to help our ministry. There is something God wants to do through you to train our leaders and help us fulfill our ministry here in Nairobi – Kenya. Thank you for your faithfulness and we shall be ready to move with you in opening an Apostolic Training Center in this region.
    Be Blessed Apostle Fredrick Ochieno

My Response:

  • Hello Apostle Fred;
Great to hear from you and know of your communication with Pastor Zedekiah. I love where God has placed key people to advance the Kingdom of God. It is a great joy to work with precious like minded brothers who understand the destiny God has for their lives. I agree with you in the fact that God has a rich inheritance established in the Glory Realm for each of us. It becomes our right and privilige to move in faith and embrace the resources He has made available. I speak blessing over you and your family and your ministry in the land of Kenya. May you live in grace and sense the closeness of His promise. We shall see His hand at work in these days.
We have been very busy with things in Uganda as we now have four new churches planted out of the Apostolic Training Center that was opened this past March 2012. God is moving so fast… just this year we have seen 15 new congregations open in the RevivalHut Ministry network. God continues to raise up leaders and train for advancemnet in the fields. It is His doing as we see Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania bearing fruit to the Glory of God. I am anxious to get back on African soil, but right now we are waiting upon God’s timing and listening for His direction. Please continue to pray for us and use the teachings on our website to encourage spiritual growth. If they are helpful to you – share them freely. www.RevivalHut.com We believe God is up to something big in all of East Africa. Join us in this adventure and we shall bless each other with our communications. It is a New Day!
    Blessings Pastor Ron Bateman

Response email from Apostle Fred:

  • Praise God – Man of God, I hope you are good in the Lord. I am grateful for allowing us to partner with what God has started in the Apostolic Training Centers through you. Pastor, I have discussed the issue with our regional church leaders, and we have agreed to start immediately the program as from next week… every Saturday from 5-7pm, and sunday from 4-6pm Kenya time. As I said, we are giving church hall to be used in this program and God will do something powerful among us. Pastor, we look forward to receive manual as you promised so I can prepare for the classes next week. I hope to hear from you soon. Greet your family and brothers in the Lord.
