No Name Like Jesus

What have we labeled “IMPOSSIBLE”?

There is a name like no other… its above every name that can be named among men (Phil 2:9-11). Its the name of “Jesus” that allows access into heavenly resources, breaks through in difficult circumstances and pulls the believer into new seasons of influence. The name, “Jesus” on the lips of the believing heart is the most amazing force in the universe… for in that name is power and authority.

Access – Breakthrough – Purpose:

Jesus said, “All authority has been given unto Me in heaven and in earth“ (Mt 28:18). “In My name they shall cast out devils” (Mk 16:17). He literally gave us His own authority when He gave us His name. An authority to deal with the Devil. Every act of stealing, killing and deception is now abruptly held to a new standard of authority. The authority of the most recognized name in Heaven, the most powerful name on Earth and the most significant name in history… has been delegated to our use.

Authority is delegated power.

A person’s authority is only as great as the power that stands behind them! The police officer directing traffic in the middle of the street is wearing a badge that represents the power of the governing laws that he enforces. A large truck could easily crush him in the middle of the busy street, but because the driver understands the power of the badge, he quickly yields his will and submits the power of his large vehicle to the authority of the badge.

The Name of Jesus is like a “Badge of Authority”!

God knew that you needed a weapon of defense against all that the wiles of the Devil (Eph 6:16). What we must come to understand is how to use the name to our benefit. His name represents His person, His position, His seating, and His influence over all things. His promise to the believer is clear, ”If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” (Jn 14:14). Jesus’ name can accomplish things that might feel impossible in the natural; yet when we live in intimacy with Him, we experience a growing awareness of how the natural is dominated by the Spirit.

Faith-filled and Lead by the Spirit:

The early Church recognized the incredible power they carried in the name of Jesus. Look at how Peter and John address the crippled beggar at the Gate Beautiful of the temple, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6). The beggar immediately received strength in his feet and ankle bones and as Peter grabbed his hand, he leaped to his feet with joy and praise to God. Later Peter needed to explain the miracle to some critics saying, “It was His name, through faith in His name, that made this man strong whom you see and know.” Amazingly the critics were familiar with this beggar and all of Isreal knew him, because they had passed him daily going into the temple. Yet this was a new day and demonstrated a new authority, where faith in the name of Jesus was confronting what they had seen as normal.

Confronting Normal:

God was and still is, breaking in at the very gate of all that humanity has labeled impossible; simply because we have adjusted our seeing. He has handed the world an opportunity to experience the “New Normal”, where the name of Jesus offers access to all the authority of Heaven. This new normal confronts all that we see as familiar, impossible and overwhelming. But it offers hope, beyond the limitations. The new normal is living by faith in the name of Jesus.

Chosen & Appointed

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit… fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in My Name.” (Jn. 15:16)

What carries the label – “IMPOSSIBLE”? There is a Name like no other, that God – “the Father” stands behind. Its above every other name that can be named among men (Phil 2:9-11). Its the Name of “Jesus” that allows access into heavenly resources, breaks through in difficult circumstances and pulls the believer into new seasons of influence. The Name, “Jesus” on the lips of the believing heart is the most amazing force in the universe… for in that name is the power and authority to confront all that is called “normal”.

Power & Authority… Means Access, Breakthrough and Kingdom Advantage!

Jesus said, “All authority has been given unto Me in heaven and in earth” (Mt 28:18). “In My Name they shall cast out devils” (Mk 16:17). He literally gave us His own authority when He gave us His Name. A Kingdom resource to deal with the devil. Every act of demonic theft, killing and deception can now be held to a new standard… heaven’s standard. The authority of the most recognized Name in Heaven, the most powerful Name on Earth and the most significant Name in history… has been delegated to our use.

Delegated Power:

A person’s authority is only as great as the power that stands behind them! The police officer directing traffic in the middle of the street is wearing a badge that represents the power of the governing laws that he enforces. A large truck could easily crush him in the middle of the busy street, but because the driver understands the power of the badge, he quickly yields his will and submits the power of his large vehicle to the authority of the badge.

You’re Called to Bear Fruit!

The Name of Jesus is like a “badge of authority”! God knew that you needed a weapon of defense against the ruthless attacks that wage war against you… unprovoked wiles of the devil (Eph 6:16). What we must come to understand is how to use the Name to our benefit. His Name represents His person, His position, His seating (if you will) and influence over all things. His promise to the believer is clear, “If you ask anything in My Name, I will do it” (Jn 14:14). Jesus’ Name can accomplish things that might feel impossible in the natural! Yet when we live in intimacy with Christ, we experience a growing awareness of how the natural is dominated by God, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Faith-filled Reality:

The Early Church recognized the incredible power they carried in the Name of Jesus. Look at how the Apostles, Peter and John address the crippled beggar at the Gate Beautiful of the temple, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6). The beggar immediately received strength in his feet and ankle bones and as Peter grabbed his hand, he leaped to his feet with joy and praise to God. Later Peter needed to explain the miracle to some critics saying, “It was His Name, through faith in His Name, that made this man strong whom you see and know” (Acts 3:16). Amazingly, the critics were familiar with this beggar and all of Israel knew him, because they had passed him daily going into the temple. Yet this was a new day and demonstrated a new authority, where faith in the Name of Jesus was confronting what they had seen as normal.

The New Normal:

God is still breaking in at the “gate” of all that humanity has labeled “normal” or “impossible”… simply because He wants to adjust our seeing. The doors of opportunity are wide open, because the heavens are wide open! He has handed the Church an opportunity to experience a “New Normal”, where the name of Jesus offers access to all the authority of Heaven. This new normal confronts all that we see as familiar, impossible and overwhelming. It also offers hope, beyond all the limitations of the past. This new normal is living by faith in the Name of Jesus.

“These things I have written to you who believe in the Name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the Name of the Son of God.” (1 Jn. 5:13)

Maintain the Promise

Scripture: “…And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the Lord has said, among the remnant whom the Lord calls. (Joel 2:28-32)

Thought for Today: “Becoming A Power Team”

The Church that we see spoken of consistently in Scripture is a people of power. Jesus said the very gates of hell shall not prevail against Her (Mt 16:18). She is a people of Promise (Lk 24:49), called out of darkness and established upon a platform of supernatural love (Col 1:13-14) and Holy Spirit activity (Acts 2:4). She has stood in the midst of persecution and multiplied in the midst of division. Her character has been challenged from every angle and She has advanced in every culture. Yet, She fights Her greatest battles from within, from the very people who carry Her Promise. She will prevail, but not without a people who know how to maintain that Promise.

The Promise of the Father:

We, as God’s People; cannot emphasize this enough – The Promise of the Father is the outpouring of the Holy Spirit! Jesus told His disciples to go wait in Jerusalem until they were endued, or clothed with power from on high (Lk 24:49)(Acts 1:4-8). This is the Promise that was experienced on the day of Pentecost and continues even today, and it is the force that has made the Church most effective in the modern world. Power was released that made those early followers “witnesses” in their world and that same power is alive today if we will maintain the Promise of the Father.

Maintaining the Promise of the Father: (2 Chron 7:14)
If My people who are called by My name will… 1st) humble themselves and pray… 2nd) seek My face… and 3rd) turn from their wicked ways.

God’s Response: Renewal, Revival and Restoration
Then I Will… 1) hear from heaven… 2) forgive their sins… and 3) heal their land.

Please notice that God’s Promise is conditional, meaning we must maintain its reality. God will only do what He can do, when we do what we have been called to do. The Church is responsible for the spiritual condition of our neighbors, city and nation, because God has given us delegated authority to advance His cause in our World. We are the Power Team in the Earth. We are the carriers of revival to different spheres of society. We maintain the Promise of the Father by fervent, persistent and faith-filled praying. When we as God’s People humble ourselves and seek His face, He will hear and respond. God will not fasten our destinies to a dead end vision or lifeless system maintained by religion. Remind yourself that it is still His Church… He is simply wanting to rule and reign in it again!

Another Great Awakening:

I believe there is gonna be another great awakening, but it starts right here with us… God’s People; humbling themselves before God, praying and fasting, turning from their wicked ways and seeking His face!

God says through the Prophet Joel; “…afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.” (Joel 2:28)

The question to ask is; “after what?” Please do not forget what precedes the promise. “Even now,” declares the LORD, “return to Me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning…”(Joel 2:12) “Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly…” (Joel 2:15). God was saying, assemble a people who will fast and pray to recover what has been lost. This was God’s call to His People for the recovery of their Promise.

Another Example:

John the Baptist was a burning and shining lamp. It was the quality of his life and the fire of his devotion that captured a Nation. His authority to be a voice was in his lifestyle. Through prayer and fasting he prepared the way of the Lord. The same applies to us, through prayer and fasting we will prepare the way of the Lord. For Him to do a great work through us, He first has to do a great work in us. We carry the Glory of God within us… we are His Image Bearers; called to awaken and respond to His purposes in the earth (Hab. 2:14).

Revival starts with us, because we are the commissioned ones… we must maintain the Promise!

Recovering Promise

“Therefore let all the House of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” (Acts 2:36-37)

The Church that we see spoken of consistently in Scripture is a people of power. Jesus said the very gates of hell shall not prevail against Her (Mt 16:18). She is a people of power, because of God’s Promise to accompany Her as the habitation of God by the Spirit. Clearly, She is a people called out of darkness and established upon a new platform of supernatural love and Holy Spirit activity. And She has overcome!

She has stood in the midst of persecution and multiplied in the midst of division. Her character has been challenged from every angle and She has advanced in every culture. Yet, She fights Her greatest battles from within, from the very people who carry Her Promise. She will prevail, but not without a people who know how to maintain their Promise. And, I think there will always be a need to recover what gets lost in battle or watered down by those with weak convictions.

The Promise of the Father:

The Promise of the Father is the outpouring of the Holy Spirit! Jesus told His disciples to go wait in Jerusalem until they were endued, or clothed with power from on high (Lk 24:49)(Acts 1:4-8).
