Secret of the Glory

“At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from Him, He turned around to the crowd and asked; “Who touched my clothes?”. “You see the people crowding around you – and yet You can ask ‘Who touched Me?’” His disciples asked. But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. The woman came and fell at His feet trembling with fear and told Him the whole truth. He said to her; “Daughter your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering”. (Mk 5:30-34)

This is an amazing story, because Jesus did not walk through the crowd looking for His next victim. There was no deep revelation in His mind that somewhere in the crowd was a woman with an issue of blood. Not at all! Yet that is often how people think of healing. “If only He would get a word for me?” We have seen so much showmanship and we have little understanding of the Glory of God.

Jesus healed all who came to Him, because He carried an anointing that released the perfect will of God (Lk 4:18-21).

Jesus said that He only did what He saw His Father do. Notice: She had heard about Him! She heard that Jesus was healing everyone and that power was going out of Him at the very touch of His garment. Her thought… “If I can just touch the hem of His garment.” What was the secret she understood? It was the secret of the Glory of God. She knew in her heart that God was good and that doctors had failed to cure her.

  • He didn’t pray for this woman.
  • He didn’t give her a healing!
  • He didn’t lay His hands on her.
  • She touched His garment and her faith placed a demand on His anointing… the Glory of God!

You see, the real secret we must uncover in our day is the secret of the Glory of God! The Apostle Paul said, “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus” (Phil 4:19). There are riches in the Glory that are yet untapped, because we have not pressed in to touch, or put a demand upon the anointing that rested on Jesus.

Worship:

When you and I enter His Presence, awaken our senses to the voice of the Holy Spirit and wade into His atmosphere in worship; we are touching spiritual substance. Let me repeat that… “we are touching spiritual substance!” Its unseen with human eyes, but through faith we can navigate through the realms of Glory and fellowship with God. That is the time to put a demand upon the resources made available by the heavenly Promises of God.

Our Inheritance:

Touch the hem of His garment… go ahead and pull upon the rich inheritance He has purchased for you. Don’t wait to get to heaven or hope for a preacher to get a word for you. Your inheritance is for you… even now (Eph 1:13-14) and you can access it by faith today. Tell Jesus the whole story, but then look for His goodness to show up in your need.

He is still asking “Who touched Me?”

Revival of Intimacy

“The more you know God, the more you love Him.”

I hear this phrase quite often from the people I pastor. What they are communicating is the irresistible nature of God. He has captured our hearts! There is a powerful pull upon our hearts when we begin to see Him for who He really is. It makes Him irresistible to the hungry… and “living water” to the thirsty (Jn. 4:10).

David said… “Oh God You are my God, early will I seek You. My soul thirsts for You, My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.” (Ps. 63:1-3)

The high calling of Christianity is to know Christ intimately! To know Christ is to know the Father (Jn 14:9). Knowing Him is not about what we do for Him, but about our pursuit of Him. Our aim is for a spiritual relationship that gives us life, it revives us and releases fullness of joy, establishes peace that rises above our understanding. Imagine a faith that comes easy, because love so fills the heart that God becomes easy to obey.

Don’t Stop Following Him!

Our problem seems to be that somewhere along the way we stopped following Him and began to follow doctrine and traditions of man. We became “churchy” and religious; rather than friends and co-laborers. We need a heart-rending revival of intimacy that calls us back to behold the face of Jesus (2 Cor 4:6). To recover our first love, we must look into the eyes that captured our hearts in the beginning.

  • God is irresistible… beyond any human definition.
  • God is irresistible… there’s no better place to be than in His Presence.
  • God is irresistible… and early we shall seek Him and consistently we shall follow.

“One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the House of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in His Temple.” (Ps. 27:4)

Nothing Impossible

Nothing is Impossible
“If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there; and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Mt 17:20)
“Everything is possible for him who believes.” (Mk 9:23)

So now that we have begun to fall in love with Christ… nothing is impossible. More and more it is becoming the ”norm” rather than the exception, that no act of obedience will be impossible for us. No task will be too great, no circumstance too difficult and no suffering too severe, because believing moves us into supernatural dimensions of power and resources.

You might ask how? or why? and I would tell you of the greatness of His love toward us who believe.

Something Happened!

“…God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom 5:5-8)

The Apostle Paul tells us of the avenue to which God’s love reaches us… it is “poured out”. I like that thought. Its poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who God has given to each of us that trust in Him. The New International Version says that His love was “lavished” upon us. There is a word only used in extremely generous expressions. God is extravagant, but never wasteful. I believe that!

I believe God’s gift of love is extreme and extravagant.

From the beginning of each day; through the routine of my personal daily experience, His Presence is interwoven into the very fabric of my life. He is pouring  His love into me, to be reflected back to Him through praise and honor. He loves me and captures my heart, so that my love for Him becomes an expression of relational bliss in partnership with His will for me.

Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commands” (Jn 14:15).

Amazingly, He made this loving process a signature reality to recognizing Him in life. When you love Me, My Father will love you and I will manifest Myself to you (Jn 14:21). So I love Him, because I see Him in my experiences and recognize His hand on me… and nothing is impossible, because He is in the midst of all those things that “seem” overwhelming! In spite of those “mountain-sized” problems that hide my destiny, nothing is beyond my believing. His love is greater. I am more than able, because of His love for me. I am more than up to the challenge, because of His anointing resting upon me. Nothing is impossible, because of the situations He has already turned into testimonies, in and through me. I can praise Him, because I’m part of His story for all the world to read!

Receive Your Gifts

“Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of Lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.” (Jms. 1:16-18)

I recently had a day dream of sorts, a picture of heaven’s Christmas gifts, left on the floor. Some were unopened, others partially opened and cast aside. But it was clear that “Christmas” had come and gone. Then I noticed an empty space where an elaborate tree had been… and I had the impression that somehow the guests had missed their invitation to the Tree of Life.

While I was pondering this, I heard the Holy Spirit say, “My people have yet to fully receive everything that I have given them this year.”

The writer of the Book of James gives us three valuable thoughts about God’s gifts to His Child. First he says do not be deceived… every good gift is from His heart. Second he tells us that it has come from the Father of Lights, which indicates there is illumination inside. Third he tells us that the purpose of the gift is to bring us forth, as the first fruits of His creatures. God is a generous Father! He gives gifts to bring us forth into the new season. When we take His gifts lightly, we miss the opportunity for fullness. We miss the impact of the riches in the Tree of Life.

As you look back on this past year, can you identify the gifts that He has given to you?

  • Gifts of Revelation
  • Gifts of People
  • Gifts of Answered Prayer
  • Gifts of His Presence

There may have been moments or seasons where you have felt the Holy Spirit invite you to walk more closely with Him. A doorway seemed to open into the realm of greater glory… being with Him, enjoying His Presence. You see that is what heaven’s gifts do… they are doorways into intimacy. They are doorways that offer us access to the Tree of Life!

I want to encourage you – to receive those gifts and take them into your next season!

Today, God is speaking to you, saying, “That gift was from Me… a personal gift to you from My heart. It has not been cancelled. Where the enemy has sought to rob or steal that gift from you, you can receive back more, for I am a God of restoration and you have authority in My Name.”

That revelation – pick it up again.

That person – invest again in that relationship.

That answer to prayer – press in, God is breaking through for you.

Today, you can respond to His invitation to walk in intimacy with Him, to experience His Presence in a greater way. It is not too late to fully receive all that God has ordained for you this year and beyond. And take it with you into 2014.

Meeting the Need

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.” (2 Cor. 1:3-5)

Take a deep breath. Release it slowly, telling yourself quietly: I let go. I let God fill my mind with His thoughts, fill my heart with His love and fill my life with His power… My God meets all my need according to His riches in Glory in Christ (Phil. 4:19). I can simply accept the reality that God’s wisdom is present and available, ready to fill me with new understanding, light and strength. It is my spiritual discipline in faith, to let God fill every void, every emptiness that seems to separate me from the peace of God in my heart. I step into faith, believing that as I let go… God fills every need!

God’s substance is supernatural and when I step into His Presence, a divine activity moves through my life. God’s creative process is awaiting me and all I have to do is receive. This is life in the Glory Realm… its effective, productive and healing; and it is activated as quickly as I let go of my “self”. I feel my life being lifted up to where He is. The Presence of God dissolves all fear and doubts and removes every hint of frailty. I can feel His pleasure, His acceptance of me and His wealth of kindness… which washes all uncertainty away. This is love at its best, comforting and meeting me right where I am. God’s love is worth beholding, unlocking and experiencing!

3 Spheres of Supernatural Stability offered by the Father’s Love:

  1. He Strengthens My Inner-Man: (Eph. 3:16) My Spirit is revitalized with supernatural energy!
  2. I become Rooted and Grounded in Love: (Eph. 3:17) My faith creates a dwelling for Christ!
  3. I am filled with all the Fullness of God: (Eph. 3:18-19) My knowledge is established by experience – Holy Spirit rushes in!

Downloading Spiritual Love:

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” (Eph. 3:20)

Begin now to relax from the strain and effort of questioning, planning, and reasoning. Take a few moments to calm your thinking and place all your attention upon the words: “I let go. I let God fill my need according to His riches… found in the Glory Realms as received by faith in Christ”. As you breath out, allow the Holy Spirit to breathe into you… strength, stability and spiritual substance that meets all of your needs. Immediately, you will experience visible and tangible benefits, inside and out. You will feel renewed strength and faith, boldness and courage will well-up within you. Your prayers will be more effective, and your understanding of the Presence of God within you will be clearer. You will find that God’s love takes care of what you cannot accomplish. As you let go, God will freely and abundantly fill every need.

God is Jehovah Jireh – Our Provider:

God always provides! As the Apostle Paul has so well proclaimed, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not also freely give us all things?” (Rom. 8:32). No indeed, if God be for us – tell me who can be against us! God gives strength, guidance, understanding, faith, healing, and supernatural supply. So be the “conqueror”, step into all that you need by faith. He loves us! Whatever life throws at you, you have; at this very moment. Make the most of every opportunity… let go of your personal striving and let God move in you and meet your every need!

“…casting all your care upon Him for He cares for you.” (1 Pet. 5:7)
