No Name Like Jesus

What have we labeled “IMPOSSIBLE”?

There is a name like no other… its above every name that can be named among men (Phil 2:9-11). Its the name of “Jesus” that allows access into heavenly resources, breaks through in difficult circumstances and pulls the believer into new seasons of influence. The name, “Jesus” on the lips of the believing heart is the most amazing force in the universe… for in that name is power and authority.

Access – Breakthrough – Purpose:

Jesus said, “All authority has been given unto Me in heaven and in earth“ (Mt 28:18). “In My name they shall cast out devils” (Mk 16:17). He literally gave us His own authority when He gave us His name. An authority to deal with the Devil. Every act of stealing, killing and deception is now abruptly held to a new standard of authority. The authority of the most recognized name in Heaven, the most powerful name on Earth and the most significant name in history… has been delegated to our use.

Authority is delegated power.

A person’s authority is only as great as the power that stands behind them! The police officer directing traffic in the middle of the street is wearing a badge that represents the power of the governing laws that he enforces. A large truck could easily crush him in the middle of the busy street, but because the driver understands the power of the badge, he quickly yields his will and submits the power of his large vehicle to the authority of the badge.

The Name of Jesus is like a “Badge of Authority”!

God knew that you needed a weapon of defense against all that the wiles of the Devil (Eph 6:16). What we must come to understand is how to use the name to our benefit. His name represents His person, His position, His seating, and His influence over all things. His promise to the believer is clear, ”If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” (Jn 14:14). Jesus’ name can accomplish things that might feel impossible in the natural; yet when we live in intimacy with Him, we experience a growing awareness of how the natural is dominated by the Spirit.

Faith-filled and Lead by the Spirit:

The early Church recognized the incredible power they carried in the name of Jesus. Look at how Peter and John address the crippled beggar at the Gate Beautiful of the temple, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6). The beggar immediately received strength in his feet and ankle bones and as Peter grabbed his hand, he leaped to his feet with joy and praise to God. Later Peter needed to explain the miracle to some critics saying, “It was His name, through faith in His name, that made this man strong whom you see and know.” Amazingly the critics were familiar with this beggar and all of Isreal knew him, because they had passed him daily going into the temple. Yet this was a new day and demonstrated a new authority, where faith in the name of Jesus was confronting what they had seen as normal.

Confronting Normal:

God was and still is, breaking in at the very gate of all that humanity has labeled impossible; simply because we have adjusted our seeing. He has handed the world an opportunity to experience the “New Normal”, where the name of Jesus offers access to all the authority of Heaven. This new normal confronts all that we see as familiar, impossible and overwhelming. But it offers hope, beyond the limitations. The new normal is living by faith in the name of Jesus.

Nothing Impossible

Nothing is Impossible
“If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there; and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Mt 17:20)
“Everything is possible for him who believes.” (Mk 9:23)

So now that we have begun to fall in love with Christ… nothing is impossible. More and more it is becoming the ”norm” rather than the exception, that no act of obedience will be impossible for us. No task will be too great, no circumstance too difficult and no suffering too severe, because believing moves us into supernatural dimensions of power and resources.

You might ask how? or why? and I would tell you of the greatness of His love toward us who believe.

Something Happened!

“…God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom 5:5-8)

The Apostle Paul tells us of the avenue to which God’s love reaches us… it is “poured out”. I like that thought. Its poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who God has given to each of us that trust in Him. The New International Version says that His love was “lavished” upon us. There is a word only used in extremely generous expressions. God is extravagant, but never wasteful. I believe that!

I believe God’s gift of love is extreme and extravagant.

From the beginning of each day; through the routine of my personal daily experience, His Presence is interwoven into the very fabric of my life. He is pouring  His love into me, to be reflected back to Him through praise and honor. He loves me and captures my heart, so that my love for Him becomes an expression of relational bliss in partnership with His will for me.

Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commands” (Jn 14:15).

Amazingly, He made this loving process a signature reality to recognizing Him in life. When you love Me, My Father will love you and I will manifest Myself to you (Jn 14:21). So I love Him, because I see Him in my experiences and recognize His hand on me… and nothing is impossible, because He is in the midst of all those things that “seem” overwhelming! In spite of those “mountain-sized” problems that hide my destiny, nothing is beyond my believing. His love is greater. I am more than able, because of His love for me. I am more than up to the challenge, because of His anointing resting upon me. Nothing is impossible, because of the situations He has already turned into testimonies, in and through me. I can praise Him, because I’m part of His story for all the world to read!

Blessing & The Face of God

“The Lord bless you, and keep you. The Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

The blessing that God commanded Moses to proclaim over Israel, contains the Father’s heart for His people. In these words we are introduced to the essence of relational blessing… the seeing of His face and the authentic joy of reflecting the light of His countenance. God loves for His face to be seen and His heart to be experienced. He loves for His Glory to shine upon His people. Why? So others see the reflection and are drawn to investigate! David adding this wonderful statement, “That Your ways (God’s ways) may be known upon the earth” (Ps. 67:2). It is one of the most important priorities of God… that His children shine with the light of His countenance and reflect the family resemblance.

“Blessed are the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord in the light of Your countenance.” (Ps. 89:15)

Seeing His Face:

The face of God radiates with joy and reveals the power of unconditional love! When you see His face, the result is overwhelming. His joy captures the heart and creates within us the sound of joy. It is this sound, the joy of abounding love that enables God’s people to shine with the light of His Glory. Walking in the light of His countenance is the most effective way to conquer sin, overcome our frailties and fight the good fight of faith. God has made us in such a way that when we see His countenance through the “eyes” of our spirit, we reflect His very nature. We are invited to know His heart and experience His mercy, His goodness and blessing. In fact, this is the essence of the ministry of the Holy Spirit… to make the Glory of God visible in the face of Jesus for all men to see with spiritual eyes. The process of restoration, healing, deliverance and all that would accompany salvation… are all products of seeing the face of God with clarity. We are offered the opportunity to see who He really is… and who we can become when we walk in the light (1 Jn. 1:7). We then become a living testimony, a reflection of His countenance to others.

“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus” (2 Cor. 4:6)

The 3-Fold Nature of God’s Blessing:

  1. Security – He promises to “keep” us! (Phil. 1:6)
  2. Grace – He promises to be “gracious” to us… to give us favor! (Rom. 5:20-21)
  3. Peace – He promises to give us “peace” (shalom)… nothing missing, nothing broken! (Heb. 4:9)

Chosen & Appointed

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit… fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in My Name.” (Jn. 15:16)

What carries the label – “IMPOSSIBLE”? There is a Name like no other, that God – “the Father” stands behind. Its above every other name that can be named among men (Phil 2:9-11). Its the Name of “Jesus” that allows access into heavenly resources, breaks through in difficult circumstances and pulls the believer into new seasons of influence. The Name, “Jesus” on the lips of the believing heart is the most amazing force in the universe… for in that name is the power and authority to confront all that is called “normal”.

Power & Authority… Means Access, Breakthrough and Kingdom Advantage!

Jesus said, “All authority has been given unto Me in heaven and in earth” (Mt 28:18). “In My Name they shall cast out devils” (Mk 16:17). He literally gave us His own authority when He gave us His Name. A Kingdom resource to deal with the devil. Every act of demonic theft, killing and deception can now be held to a new standard… heaven’s standard. The authority of the most recognized Name in Heaven, the most powerful Name on Earth and the most significant Name in history… has been delegated to our use.

Delegated Power:

A person’s authority is only as great as the power that stands behind them! The police officer directing traffic in the middle of the street is wearing a badge that represents the power of the governing laws that he enforces. A large truck could easily crush him in the middle of the busy street, but because the driver understands the power of the badge, he quickly yields his will and submits the power of his large vehicle to the authority of the badge.

You’re Called to Bear Fruit!

The Name of Jesus is like a “badge of authority”! God knew that you needed a weapon of defense against the ruthless attacks that wage war against you… unprovoked wiles of the devil (Eph 6:16). What we must come to understand is how to use the Name to our benefit. His Name represents His person, His position, His seating (if you will) and influence over all things. His promise to the believer is clear, “If you ask anything in My Name, I will do it” (Jn 14:14). Jesus’ Name can accomplish things that might feel impossible in the natural! Yet when we live in intimacy with Christ, we experience a growing awareness of how the natural is dominated by God, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Faith-filled Reality:

Yet this was a new day and demonstrated a new authority, where faith in the Name of Jesus was confronting what they had seen as normal.

The New Normal:

God is still breaking in at the “gate” of all that humanity has labeled “normal” or “impossible”… simply because He wants to adjust our seeing. The doors of opportunity are wide open, because the heavens are wide open! He has handed the Church an opportunity to experience a “New Normal”, where the name of Jesus offers access to all the authority of Heaven. This new normal confronts all that we see as familiar, impossible and overwhelming. It also offers hope, beyond all the limitations of the past. This new normal is living by faith in the Name of Jesus.

“These things I have written to you who believe in the Name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the Name of the Son of God.” (1 Jn. 5:13)
