Covenant Resources

(Ps. 103:1-5) Bless the Lord, oh my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and forget not all His benefits:

  1. Who forgives all your iniquities,
  2. Who heals all your diseases,
  3. Who redeems your life from destruction,
  4. Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies,
  5. Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

My Heavenly Father renews my spirit (Eph 3:16). He offers resources, benefits and inheritance that strengthen my confidence and encourage my walk of faith. Each one of His benefits are promises to meet the need and teach me of His power and His Glory. Along the pages of my Bible; you’ll find written and dated Covenant principles that remind me of His provision for me. They are truths that will not fail!

  • He Forgives: (Isaiah 1:18)

Jesus tells us of the Father’s agreement through the blood of His own Son. A Covenant of Forgiveness and Grace. “This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins” (Mt. 26:28).

  • He Heals: (Isaiah 53:5)

I love the way Jesus fulfills His Father’s will and establishes the truth for our provision at the same time. “When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.” (Mt. 8:16-17)

  • He Redeems: (Psalm 34:22)

Jesus declares us - righteous by faith (Rom. 3:21-24)! A reality that cannot be accomplished by our own efforts is made available through a free gift. Because we take refuge in the promises of God, there is a fellowship in the Holy Spirit that enables me to be free from the grip of sin. I am free to live in the destiny God has for me. Redemption allows me to watch as God restores the brokenness and fears of the past.

  • He Crowns: (Psalm 8:5)

The word crown can also be translated “clothed” and we see that Jesus tells His disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they were clothed in power from on high (Lk. 24:49). Its the Father’s will that His Children be clothed with Glory and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. The benefit of the Father’s Promise (Acts 2:4 & 8) gives us influence over the world’s system and releases supernatural impact right where we live.

  • He Satisfies: (Psalm 23:1)

Jesus makes the evidence of salvation a renewal every morning. He meets with me and satisfies my soul as a Good Shepherd leads sheep to pasture. His invitation becomes an abiding rest and empowerment. On the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, Jesus stood on a high place and shouted, “If anyone thirsts, let him come unto Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (Jn 7:37-38).

Your Spiritual Capacity

“Now concerning spiritual gifts, or concerning operations of the spirit, brothers, I would not have you to be ignorant.” (1 Cor. 12:1)

Designed for Flow:

You are designed to be a spiritual man or woman. God wants you to operate in the supernatural everyday! Its why He has given us the Holy Spirit.

The Apostle Paul is writing to the Church… Notice the first thing: God wants you to move in the supernatural! You are designed to be a supernatural being. You are a spirit, living inside a body. With your body you can communicate with the natural or external world… with your spirit you can communicate from the realm of God’s resources, power and authorization. This dimension is the realm of the spirit… often we call it the “spiritual realm”. You and I are designed to flow and access all that God has made available through the personal anointing of the Holy Spirit upon our lives. Its important to understand the simple principle that you don’t have to become a spiritual person – you already are spiritual!

You already have a spirit dimension to you.

Spiritual Senses:

Your natural body has five senses: you can see, hear, taste, touch and smell. Your spirit man also has spiritual senses. With your physical senses you can interact with the physical world. You receive signals in your natural body… and from those senses you can begin to identify certain things. It’s the same in your spirit; but many people haven’t developed their spiritual capacity. You can develop your spiritual senses just as clearly as you can develop your natural senses. It comes by training yourself in the disciplines of use, practice and consistent discernment. Faith is always the key to opening your spiritual senses and persistent use will enlarge your spiritual effectiveness.

  • Your ability to see God spiritually and identify the purposes of the Holy Spirit is directly connected to your hunger for revelation and activation… like speaking the Word of God or laying hands upon the oppressed, sick and broken lives around you.
  • Your ability to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit is tied directly to your hearing of the Word of God… the voice of your Shepherd.
  • Your ability to taste of the goodness of the Father is connected to your willingness to rest in His Presence and wait upon Him to meet your needs with His love and compassion.
  • Your ability to feel or grow in your knowledge of the Holy Spirit’s touch is connected to meditating upon His Person, Promises and Emotions.
  • Your ability to experience the sensation of smelling the fragrances of heaven is tied to atmospheres of worship and thanksgiving.

“Now the manifestation of the spirit is given to each one for the profit of all!” (1 Cor. 12:7)

The Holy Spirit has expression and communication that benefits everyone who is willing to grow and develop their spiritual senses. Its part of our discipleship goal as God’s Child. Notice the word ‘manifestation’, it means: something that is visible, tangible… that people can see, feel and connect with. He’s saying: God wants to operate through you, in a way that’s tangible, that people can experience Him. Don’t underestimate what God can do through you.

Recent Testimony:

I prophesied over someone the other day. I brought a word from God to encourage them and I shared it with them in order to benefit them. It was what I believed God was saying to me… things God showed me, things which were so personal and so connected to that person. When I asked them: how did this affect you… they said: I felt like my whole life was open before God, and He was aware of my situation. Their perception was that God was talking to them personally.

God is Speaking!

The gifts of the spirit are manifestations of a person – the Holy Spirit; so it’s not like you carry some kind of special gift. In fact, you carry a spiritual sensitivity that you are accessing by faith. You have a person living on the inside of you and you work with Him to bring His life forth. It’s all about a relationship with the Holy Spirit. The passage says: “the manifestation of the spirit is given to everyone” – so who is left out of the word ‘everyone’? There’s no one left out – this is for you! Everyone includes you.

God is speaking… and He wants to use your voice to do it!

Bringing Heaven & Disarming Hell

When we posture ourselves correctly before God, we bring Heaven to Earth & disarm hell’s influence.

In the Old Testament whenever worship is mentioned it had a connection to posture as much or more than activity. The word ”worship” actually means to fall prostrate before the one we esteem. Jesus wants our praise to be the fruitful overflow of a full heart, not a discouraged sacrifice of a wounded soldier. Praise and worship should open the Heavenly Realm and release fresh revelation of Truth. Notice these Psalms…

  • Oh come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker (Ps 95:6).
  • My voice You shall hear in the morning, oh Lord. In the morning I will direct it to You and I will look up (Ps 5:3).
  • The Lord is my Strength and my Shield. My heart trusted in Him and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices and with my song I will praise Him (Ps 28:7).
  • They looked to Him (God) and were radiant and their faces were not ashamed (Ps 34:5).

These praise moments were accomplished through a proper posture that bring Heaven to Earth. When we posture ourselves with humility and honor before God a spontaneous flow of rejoicing, thanksgiving and prayer is released from our inner man (1 Thess 5:16-19). The Apostle Paul tells us to never quench the Spirit. I believe this is because in those moments; when we reflect joy, we actually weaken the Enemy’s grasp on our lives.

Satan loses his power and the forces of darkness are disarmed.

Jesus Christ is truly the Victorious King!

When Heaven is releasing its resources into our hearts; and we are being filled with power from on high, then we walk different and carry unique authority. Jesus is “Our King” and the awareness of His victory is earth shaking and life altering. Faith begins to rise where Truth is embedded. The heart that takes the appropriate posture receives grace (James 4:6), obtains mercy (Heb 4:16) and walks in power (Lk 24:49) from heaven (Acts 2:2). This is the Kingdom stuff that brings heaven to earth and disarms hell’s influence on our lives.

Nothing Impossible

Nothing is Impossible
“If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there; and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Mt 17:20)
“Everything is possible for him who believes.” (Mk 9:23)

So now that we have begun to fall in love with Christ… nothing is impossible. More and more it is becoming the ”norm” rather than the exception, that no act of obedience will be impossible for us. No task will be too great, no circumstance too difficult and no suffering too severe, because believing moves us into supernatural dimensions of power and resources.

You might ask how? or why? and I would tell you of the greatness of His love toward us who believe.

Something Happened!

“…God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom 5:5-8)

The Apostle Paul tells us of the avenue to which God’s love reaches us… it is “poured out”. I like that thought. Its poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who God has given to each of us that trust in Him. The New International Version says that His love was “lavished” upon us. There is a word only used in extremely generous expressions. God is extravagant, but never wasteful. I believe that!

I believe God’s gift of love is extreme and extravagant.

From the beginning of each day; through the routine of my personal daily experience, His Presence is interwoven into the very fabric of my life. He is pouring  His love into me, to be reflected back to Him through praise and honor. He loves me and captures my heart, so that my love for Him becomes an expression of relational bliss in partnership with His will for me.

Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commands” (Jn 14:15).

Amazingly, He made this loving process a signature reality to recognizing Him in life. When you love Me, My Father will love you and I will manifest Myself to you (Jn 14:21). So I love Him, because I see Him in my experiences and recognize His hand on me… and nothing is impossible, because He is in the midst of all those things that “seem” overwhelming! In spite of those “mountain-sized” problems that hide my destiny, nothing is beyond my believing. His love is greater. I am more than able, because of His love for me. I am more than up to the challenge, because of His anointing resting upon me. Nothing is impossible, because of the situations He has already turned into testimonies, in and through me. I can praise Him, because I’m part of His story for all the world to read!

Reviving our Culture

Reviving our culture with the Gospel of the Kingdom can feel like a task for the super Christians of our world. We have been given the authority and power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, but our confidence often gets shaken when we see the faces of our neighbors. It seems like we talk more about reviving our culture than we practice touching those within our reach.

Kingdom Authority:

You and I have been given a mandate to set people free from torment and diseases (Jn 14:12). We are called to do what Jesus did… destroy the works of the devil. Its the authority to move the resources of Heaven into the Earth, where real needs can be met with compassionate love. It does not need to be flashy or charismatic, to be creative and effective. Its the authority to serve.

The Truth is Practical:

As with most Kingdom principles, the truth about our authority is bound to the truth of practical love. Any truth in the wrong hands can become dangerous, but in the hands of a humble servant, the world is radically effected. Love is the great equalizer, because it is what makes the Gospel of the Kingdom carry its effect. Becoming servants to this world and serving in practical ways within its culture, is the key that opens doors of possibility.

Royalty is my Identity – Servanthood is my Assignment:

There it is in a nutshell! You and I are being fashioned for this. We are becoming Kingdom Agents with a real identity bound to the King of Kings, but a practice of washing feet in the world around us. Before God I live my life in intimacy, but before man I live my life in servanthood. Before the powers of hell I am a ruler, with no tolerance for the works of the devil. Before God I stand triumphant, a Son of Righteousness, strong and faithful. Yet before men I stand in compassion, aware that all men are prone to wander, to weakness and to frailty (Mt 9:35-39).

Begin with Invasion:

Today I want to encourage myself… and you as well, if you would like to take this challenge. Walk across the street and serve your neighbor. Just this week I have been challenged with this commission, because our neighbor passed away suddenly. I sat wondering what I could do? I heard the Lord say, “Give your neighbor a cup of cold water”. God was saying to me, “Stop thinking and go revive the culture across the street!” I am realizing that reviving a culture is done one step at a time.

Who is Your Neighbor?”

I like the answer Jesus gives to the rulers of His day (Lk 10:30). “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves.” 1)My neighbor is anyone the thief has robbed. “Who stripped him of his clothing.” 2)My neighbor is anyone who the thief has left naked and shamed. “And wounded him.” 3)My neighbor is anyone the thief has wounded and left bleeding. “And departed, leaving him half dead.” 4)My neighbor is anyone the thief has left half dead.

My culture is mine to revive, so I am challenging myself to stop for the one within reach. As a Kingdom Agent, I have authority to serve!
