Sin’s Progress

“Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, and I shall be innocent of great transgression.” (Psalm 19:12-13)

Remind yourself that sin has a progress! It takes you further than you want to go, costs you more than you can pay… and it keeps you longer than you intended to stay. So give it no ground! (Jms. 1:13-16)
· It goes from passing temptation to chosen thought (errors).
· It goes from chosen thought to object of meditation.
· It goes from object of meditation to wished-for fulfillment.
· It goes from wished-for fulfillment to planned action (secret faults).
· It goes from planned action to opportunity sought.
· It goes from opportunity sought to performed act.
· It goes from action to repeated action.
· It goes from repeated action to delight (presumptuous sins).
· It goes from delight to new and various ways.
· It goes from new and various ways to habit. (idolatry)
· It goes from habit to idolatry, demanding to be served.
· It goes from idolatry to sacrifice.
· It goes from sacrifice to slavery. (bondage & dominion over me)

We can fight the good fight of faith: (2 Cor. 10:3-6)(Eph. 6:10-18)
1st) Pull down strongholds of the mind
2nd) Cast down everything that argues with the knowledge of God
3rd) Bring every thought into obedience to Christ
4th) Punish all disobedience, when obedience is achieved

Recognize that you do not have to open the door, when thoughts come knocking at your heart… don’t think about, meditate upon or even entertain evil thoughts, because they aim to rob you of your peace and joy in Christ! Hide the Word of God in your heart! (Psa. 119:11)(Heb. 4:12)

Bold As A Lion

“The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion.” (Prov. 28:1)

Jesus Christ has given me an inheritance of righteousness and I claim it as my own. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:21) and I reign in life (Rom. 5:17). In fact, I’m bold as a lion, because of all that He has accomplished for me… and in me. The above verse tells us, “The righteous are bold as a lion”. Its walking in the revelation of a person’s right standing with God that makes them confident and bold as a lion. If you can accept the truth; that in Christ there is forgiveness for sin and right standing with God, then you too can have the boldness of a lion. By simple faith, you will never again need to fear your circumstances or look at someone else’s life and feel unworthy.

You can say, “I have the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ credited to me by faith. I have cast aside my filthy rags for garments that are white as snow!”

It is time to stop struggling. If the devil comes to you and says, “You’re no good, you have no righteousness.” You can answer, “I know I am unworthy in myself! I have no righteousness, but I do have the righteousness of Jesus Christ. His Blood, shed for me has cleansed me from all sin! I’ve failed God; fallen from Glory, but I have an Advocate with the Father — Jesus Christ, The Righteous King of Glory!” Jesus was the spotless Lamb of God who died; yet was risen and still remains as our Great High Priest before the Throne of God making intercession for the Saints, declaring the sufficiency of His own sacrifice. He will return as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. And we; as a People of Praise, shall rejoice with Him at His coming… knowing that we are like Him, bold as a lion in His righteousness.

Evil Days:

When you stand in the midst of evil, you will not have to tremble (1 Jn. 4:17-18). Stop thinking, “What have I to offer God? What did I do right or wrong?” No, you come bold as a lion to the Throne of Grace and find mercy and receive grace in the time of need (Heb. 4:16). Jesus has made all grace abound to you; so that in believing, you might have joy and boldness in your fellowship with God.

Freedom to do Good Works:

Living by faith and receiving the gift of righteousness, sets us free to walk in power and do good works. Good works done in fear bring no glory to God — they must flow out of a loving heart… a joyful heart. Walking in supernatural power is possible to those who have a revelation of their inheritance! Christ’s perfect righteousness has become our source of confidence… no more bondage to fear.

Its time to awaken the heart of the lion and move in faith- Courageous & Bold!

Still Going Deeper

“And he (an Angel) showed me (John) a pure river of (the) water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb” (Rev. 22:1).

“Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and there was water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the altar” (Ezek. 47:1).

There is a River that flows freely from the throne of God!

This supernatural resource of the Holy Spirit, which runs through the Temple in Jerusalem, also flows through us (1 Cor. 3:16). In the same way that Solomon’s Temple was “filled with the glory of the Lord” (1 Kings 8:10-13), you and I can be filled to overflow with the same manifestation of His Presence in our lives. The Prophet Haggai prophesied about a greater glory coming to the Temple (Hag. 2:1). God intends for that increasing glory to flow through us.

Living in the River:

As believers we are in the River, but we must ask ourselves – how deep are we willing to go? How far will we allow the Holy Spirit to flood our lives? Are we merely standing at a safe depth to accomplish our agendas?

Have you noticed that children love splashing and playing in wading pools where the water is only ankle deep? Our early salvation experience is often like that, we got in up to our ankles and splashed around, suddenly exposed to the amazing things God can do. But are we still in that place, satisfied with surface things when God is calling us to maturity and a deeper commitment? Can we risk losing control or look foolish at His command? Are we willing to go deeper; to move in signs and wonders, believe in miracles, healings or deliverance? Have we ever thought that God would use us to touch people where they are?

Going Deeper:

As we begin to seek God and pray, letting go of agendas in exchange for His purposes in our lives… we go deeper. We ready ourselves to stretch beyond our comfort zones, trusting that He knows what He’s doing in us. And while this is a very good thing, it tests our character and our faith. As the water reaches our waistlines we find that movement is far more difficult. The Holy Spirit wants to change us, exposing pride, selfishness or unforgiveness.

Neck deep in the River, shakes our confidence and calls us to completely identify with Christ (Gal. 2:20). It is at this level that many Christians turn back, because moving is hindered by the deep water. It is at this place where the Holy Spirit begins to ask for more sacrifice and we begin to surrender our future to a higher call. In trusting God’s purposes and risking our own lives, we come to know the abundant resource that flows from His Throne (Heb 4:16). And while it feels as if you can’t go any deeper, I promise you my friend there is much more!

In Over Our Head:

As we go deeper still we must let go of the firm footing beneath our feet, learning that we must swim in order to stay alive. In the River of God we must let go of our security and allow the Spirit to take us where He wants us to go. And while we all like to feel as if we’re in control, its here that we begin to experience the true freedom of the Spirit. Ultimately it is the Holy Spirit who has control and once we know and trust God, we can abandon ourselves to His tender care and mercy. It feels very risky, but it is actually the safest place for the believer to abide.

Its Up To Us:

Where are you in the River of God today? Ankle-deep? Knee-deep? Waist-deep? Neck-deep? Or way over your head? Ezekiel tells us of this river experience, but it’s up to us to determine where we will live. Still going deeper brings healing and joy; but most of all it will release us into the increased Glory of God!

Fueled by Hope

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Rom 15:13)

OK, Spirit Filled Believer - the time to evaluate your trust level is now! Joy and peace are the evidence of a healthy faith in God. Its time to get honest and recognize the difference between busy energy and the power of the Holy Spirit. One gives temporary relief, while the other fuels us with the supernatural power of hope. The God of hope wants to fill you up so completely that you overflow with hope!

A Fueling Station:

This is the stuff we talk about endlessly in our Christian huddles, but cannot find when the going gets tough. Remind yourself today that this kind of fruitful lifestyle gets into our lives by pulling upon the power of the Holy Spirit. God has given us a fueling station to plug our hearts into. You cannot work it up or prop it up with flattering words… its only gonna come from soaking in the Presence of the Holy Spirit. You will need some time with God.

Soaking in His Presence:

Emerse yourself in His love and awaken your perception to the flow of mercy and grace from the spiritual realm. Praise God for His kindness to forgive you of your sin and let go of all your concerns about measuring up to some arbitrary standard. Just let it go for a moment and see how different it feels to be accepted without performance… without trying, doing or being anything but yourself. Let God have you, not your sacrifice, service or plans.

God Loves… You!

You are who God loves, completely and unconditionally. Take that in for a moment and let it settle on the busy-ness of your mind. Wait… just wait for a moment until that thought of “God loving you”, gets past your mind and settles your heart. Can you sense God’s heart toward you? You see our greatest challenge is not that we cannot receive the Lord’s discipline, its that we so easily forget how deeply He loves and accepts us as His Child (Heb 12:3-8). That is where the hope is.

Our Father:

The hope is in the fact that He is on our side and will deliver us from all harm. He covers and comforts, watches and waits on us; He listens and comes closer than the breath that we breathe… because He truly is the God of Hope. He is our Father, the defender of the weak and the healer of the broken and His delight is to fuel our lives with hope.

Praise Brings Encounter

Encourage a Holy Ghost Party today – and shift the atmosphere around you!

Years ago, the authorities in an oppressive government seized two men, dragged them off and beat them. Their crime? Being Christian and talking to others about their faith. Bleeding and bruised, the men were finally thrown into a jail cell and shackled to a wall. By midnight, they had decided how to respond to their pain: They began to pray and sing praises to God.

Praise can become an enormous opportunity… a sacrifice is something surrendered and something is released (Heb 13:15).

Acts 16 recounts what happened next: “Suddenly there was an earthquake, so violent that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were unfastened…” The jailer ended up taking Paul and Silas to his home, washing their wounds, and begging them to baptize him and his family.

Incredible isn’t it… this is how praise brings spiritual encounter. Something is shaken and something is loosed; so that God can have His way in the midnight hour.

When we praise God in the midst of dark moments, we are surrendering our plans to His Divine order. While we are simply offering the fruit of our lips, God is coming to the rescue of His covenant child. Praise is an avenue into God’s courtroom where the drama of Earth is aligned with the judgements of Heaven (Ps. 100:4-5). Jesus said pray, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.” (Mt. 6:10) Praise brings encounters that transform how people see, hear and respond to everything! The atmosphere changes as the Kingdom of God rushes in to take dominion where darkness once reigned!
