Real Witness

“But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the LORD, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, to Israel his sin. Hear this, you leaders of the house of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel, who despise justice and distort all that is right; who build Zion with bloodshed, and Jerusalem with wickedness.” (Micah 3:8-10)

Your real Christian witness flows from somewhere deeper than your voice. The Prophet Micah attributed the power of his ministry to the Spirit of the Lord. Our power comes from the same source! Out of the belly of a man; filled with the Holy Spirit, rises a testimony of truth and power (Jn. 7:37-39).

You are more than your story – You are His-story!

We cannot stand on our own righteousness… it is Christ in us that speaks of better things than what people see or hear. Indeed, were we to find ourselves reliant upon our strength, our wisdom or our charm, we would find no hope against the onslaught of this world’s trouble. But we are not at all in the clutches of impending doom… for we are not our own. We live as Christ’s Ambassadors (2 Cor 5:20). We have been purchased by a blood as pure and holy as the whitest snow (Eph 1:7). We have been offered freedom’s highest position (Eph. 2:6). And we have a voice within ourselves that comes streaming forth like a rushing waterfall (Phil. 4:13). Christ has become our strength, our wisdom and our witness, because He is our peace… our focus and our joy. He is our Righteousness!

The Mystery: Its “Christ in you, the hope of Glory” (Col. 1:27)

Jesus told His followers they would receive power to witness about Him when the Holy Spirit came on them (Acts. 1:8). You can’t witness effectively by relying on your own strength, because fear will keep you from speaking out for God. You can’t witness effectively by choosing the best sermons or knowing the right words to say. You are not smart enough to outwit the devil. You cannot witness effectively by creating the best atmosphere or offering the most attractive invitation. Only by relying on the power of the Holy Spirit can you live and witness for Him! But with that power comes the promise that signs and wonders will follow those who believe (Mk. 16:17).

“Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city.” (Acts 8:6-8)

This is the witness we have in Christ: “That if God be for us, who can stand against us?” (Rom. 8:31)

Leaning Forward

"Can I shake your hand?"

Top of Mt Elgon, Kenya

Be careful not to dismiss your dream too quickly… it may be a vision of your future. God has dropped His plans into the hearts of many “chosen” individuals who missed their calling simply because they treated the plans like “wishful-thinking” or “fantasy”. We must consider the possibility that God may be trying to break into our lives with revelation and purpose.

You are God’s Favorite Child!

As a Child of God; you have incredible potential, that when it begins to be unlocked carries supernatural power. The real key is “belief” …can you believe the impossible is truly possible in Christ? If so then anything can happen… its for those who believe.

Keep Leaning Forward:

Hesitation is fine for a moment, especially if you are taking an inventory of your skills and growth process; but it can become a subtle form of rebellion. You may feel uncomfortable stepping out in faith or you may feel a sense of fear at the possible risks involved; but God is the God of the breakthrough. Breakthroughs come one step at a time. If you continue to lean into His love and embrace, you will realize God knows your heart better than you do. He knows how to accomplish the biggest tasks even when we feel like a fool attempting them.

“…many are called, but few are chosen” (Mt 22:14)

Jesus makes this comment  to say, “don’t miss your chosen-ness”! There will always be a cynical crowd; who having seen the opportunity, drew-up short because of unbelief. They never affirmed the calling nor took to heart the inner prompting of the Holy Spirit; therefore, they speak as those who missed their engagement with heaven. Don’t let that be you.

The writer of Hebrews said, “We are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.” (Heb 10:39)

You will fail, but your destiny is not perdition or doom, judgement or condemnation. We are called to live our lives leaning into the abundant life of Christ, free and confident. Just to answer the question “what if I fail?” Let me tell you from experience - you will fail! While you begin to see His plans emerge from within your “dream”, you will have doubts and frustrations.

But… God is faithful!

Maybe I should repeat that phrase… God is faithful! The plan was never to bring glory to your name, but to fulfill His wonderful purpose on planet Earth. His love for you and His power inside gives you the courage to allow the Holy Spirit to wear you like a glove. You have the heart within, dig for it. Lean forward and God will allow all that you were made for to be seen in the trail that you blaze.

Manifestations

“But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” (1 Cor. 2:10-12)

When you and I release the Holy Spirit to brood over our lives… something is bound to happen! The Bible calls these spiritual activities… miracles or signs & wonders. They are “manifestations of God by the Spirit”. God wants to offer His Children revelation knowledge… Truth that will release freedom in the unseen realms. This insight and foresight gives the ability to discern the heart of God and make effective decisions and advance the Kingdom of God into Earthly circumstances.

Defining Manifestations:

A “manifestation” is not the creation of anything, it is simply the moving of spiritual substance – “grace”/divine favor – from one dimension to another (vision, healing, salvation… etc.). When we are given a spiritual revelation from the Holy Spirit, it is not the creation of something new, but the awareness of something unseen with natural perception. It is the light bulb in the room from the Holy Spirit, and when turned on; it reveals everything that was in the room… that in “darkness” we could not see or understand.

Effective Fervent Prayer: (James 5:16-18)

We need to be confident in living by spiritual revelation and manifestations, because they are the foundation to an effective prayer life. Prayer is not twisting God’s arm to our agenda, it is the twisting of our mind to His (1 Cor. 2:16). Thinking as God and seeing what He sees, means we need to change the way we see and hear natural realities. Jesus said that nothing would be impossible to those who believe… that they would experience His Glory and shift reality to conform to His purpose and “will”. When we properly understand and operate in prayer, God brings revelation to us of everything He has finished in the spiritual dimension. A manifestation translates or moves spiritual things into the “earth realm”… as it is in the “heavenly realm” (Mt. 6:10). God didn’t call you the day of your salvation, for He had already chosen you from before the foundation of creation. You realized your purpose and calling as revelation came into your heart and mind… Holy Spirit just turned on the light! His work was complete… but He simply lifted the veil for you to see what was already there from before the foundation of the world… hidden for you to find. All you need to do is – love Him!

But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Cor. 2:9)
