His Word to You

Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!” (Lk 1:28)

Here we have the amazing story of how Mary was visited by the angel Gabriel who told her she would become the mother of the Messiah. Naturally Mary was shocked and asked how such a thing could be, since she was a virgin. The angel did not go into a longwinded explanation, but simply told her “the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you” (Lk 1:35). That was good enough for Mary and she responded with a powerful declaration of faith: “Let it be to me according to Your Word”.

Discovering Favor:

That simple reply is at the heart of the mystery of answered prayer. Mary came to believe that as a virgin she would become pregnant and give birth to Israel’s long awaited Messiah. There were probably a lot of young Jewish women that might have hoped for that privilege, but Mary didn’t just hope it – she lived it. She knew a secret, because God had revealed His Word to her. Yet, she would come to live it out, only as she discovered her favored estate with God. For Mary to have felt favored by God would seem normal and expected in Jewish households, but a divine revelation from the angel Gabriel would have certainly emphasized its reality.

Favor Establishes Faith:

Now there would be nothing absurd about Mary’s belief in God, because she was finding His favor in His Word to her. It was rooted firmly in the Word of God’s supernatural encounter. God’s Word to her made faith… reality and had made the ridiculous… reasonable. As the angel told her, “With God nothing will be impossible!” I can almost hear a shout of “Amen!” as she embraced the words. “I am Your maidservant! Let it be to me according to Your Word.”

Receive His Favor:

Most of us are not likely to experience a visitation from Gabriel, but we have encounters with the Holy Spirit waiting for our embrace right now. The Bible is filled with words for us from God and there are angels that accompany our activities everyday. As Kingdom Agents, we are designed to walk in the favor of God and establish an atmosphere around our lives that allow His voice to become recognizable.

Like a fragrance, Mary found that favor longs to be discovered. You can be told that it is there, but it must be received and experienced, to be sought out and appreciated. God’s Word to you is like Mary’s secret, dependant upon your willingness to recognize His favor.

Releasing Revival in East Africa

I want to ask our readers to pray with us about my upcoming trip into the nation of Kenya. I leave today to speak for a Conference (Dec. 12-15) in Eldoret under the leadership of Pastor Lucas Maina. You might recall his testimony of three years ago hearing me preach, receiving prayer and God turned his ministry upside-down… his congregation grew from 30 to over 1000 people in just this short time. But better yet, almost all of this growth was due to door to door evangelism… new converts! God totally transformed Pastor Mainas’ vision for ministry. He once believed he was the builder of his church, but now he has learned to let go and allow Jesus to build the Church and Lucas is busy advancing the Kingdom, one soul at a time.

I believe it is time to give the nation of Kenya to God!

God is Speaking – A Now Word:

Last week I had a vision of angels carrying torches and lighting the fires of revival in many places across the nations of Africa and on into the world. I believe it is time to pray and cry out to God for revival fires in every city and every hungry heart across the Earth. Yet as I go into the Continent of Africa and step onto soil that is rich with prophetic history – I am struck by the sensation that the time is Now! These are days of great expectation in every nation I enter.

Pray for Fresh Fire:

May the Lord kindle fresh fire upon us individually, on our churches, and in the nations. May the former days of outpouring be eclipsed by what God does in our time… and with our voices. Let us lay hold of our future and not let go until the Lord gives us His supernatural fire. Let us push back the spirits of apathy, unbelief, witchcraft, and religion and release the fire of God’s Spirit. We are seeing a release of signs and wonders, and healing miracles out in the bush, among the gathering villagers in churches and cities. Its now – that we begin to stretch forth the nets and offer God the bountiful gift of a harvest of souls from East Africa. Let us claim entire tribes, families and cultures for the Kingdom of God. May that fire kindle a new call to missions and a fresh energy for the work that they are doing.

Cry out with us here at RevivalHut Ministries, for visitation and fresh fire in our day in the nations of East Africa. So many are giving their lives, their finances and their voice to the work… and although God will spend His best for the least, nothing is wasted when placed in His hands! We still believe in the original blue print – and the power of the Holy Spirit!

Zech. 4:6 “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”

Acts 2:2-4, “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Ps. 90:16, “Let us see your miracles again; let our children see Your glory at work.”

And all the Saints said – AMEN!

House Invasion

Blessing and Favor

Blessing & Enlargement

“Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre. He didn’t want anyone to know which house He was staying in, but He couldn’t keep it a secret.” (Mk 7:24)

If Jesus has come into your house you won’t be able to keep it a secret. It will get out. You won’t be able to conceal it, at least not for long. That’s because He will never come into a house and leave things the same.

Houses are His Specialty:

Jesus was constantly going into houses, to eat, to talk, to connect and to rest. Yet those houses were never the same after His invasion of grace and glory. The lies were uncovered. The sin was forgiven. The battles were settled and the priorities were called back into order. Why? Because He is the ultimate life-changer, the Author of the Good Life… and its in the house where life happens.

Working Inside Out:

He transforms stuff by Spirit invasion. Ideas like visitation, habitation, fullness or outpouring seem to communicate the difficulty in keeping our Christian faith secret. The neighbors seem to sense something is happening next door. I almost chuckle when I hear people tell me that their faith is “personal”, because its almost like having a new puppy in the house… it gets into everything.

But the good news about Jesus is that He is able to do what He does without making a mess. In fact, the house gets restored from the inside out… strong and beautiful. Some destiny may have to be re-negotiated and some dreams, re-evaluated from a heavenly perspective, but something glorious emerges. Once inside the house, His blessing and healing touch are released into every crevice of who we are and soon become visible on the outside. His Presence is the kind of change that cannot be hidden for long.

People will Notice:

Take some time today to ask Christ to invade your house, every nook and cranny of your being. Make sure He knows that your heart is His home and your family is His possession. His love can do what nothing else has ever been able to do in your house! Is there some area of your life; a personal disappointment, family relationship or life transition where you have felt overwhelmed or confused? Give Him an all access pass to your house and an invasion will begin.

Jesus is interested in your house, today!

A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see Him, since Jesus was coming that way. When Jesus reached the spot, He looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” (Lk 19:2-5)

Signs of Revival

Revival literally means: to live again!

We can define revival as a period or season of unusual blessing from the Holy Spirit, where a believer or group of believers are enjoying the experience of coming to life again. Revival means awakening, stimulating the life, bringing it to the surface and making God’s love tangible once again. Revival is a Holy Spirit visitation to the Church that deepens the relationship between the believer and God; but it also overflows to touch a world in need.

Revival is the fire of the Holy Spirit… re-ignited!

Believers, who once carried a passion and love for God can allow that love to grow cold and ineffective for many reasons. When religious oppression, testing or trials come and bring stress into the Church, our passions can get drained. Through distractions, deceptions and weaknesses, the enemy tries to draw us away from our goal of fellowship with Christ. Yet when God’s people turn and humble themselves through heart rending repentance (2 Chron 7:14), a new power gets released. That power is tranforming and changes everything that holds the believer back (Acts 4:31). They are drawn to the love of God like never before and a new energy caused by the anointing of the Holy Spirit, washes over that believing heart to bring refreshing (Ps 51:12)(Ps 43:3-5)(Ps 63:1-5). What breaks forth is a restoration of what David called the joy of salvation. Notice that God responds to the searching heart and satisfies the hungry soul. These are signs of revival.

Great are Your tender mercies, O Lord; Revive me according to Your judgements.(Ps 119:156)

The Psalmist declares a pathway to revival, ”Revive me according to Your judgements.” Revival is shaped by God’s judgements. What are the Lord’s judgements and how do they bring revival to the heart? God’s judgements are His prescribed remedy to the problems He must address among His people and humanity as a whole.

Its God’s verdict – His Word!

An example: God’s judgement toward sin is death; yet He remedies the problem with what we call redemption. The gift of His Son dying upon the Cross was the prescribed remedy to our sin problem that brought forth shame, fear and brokenness. The remedy released forgiveness, healing and wholeness. He moved this way, because He so loved humanity and had the appropriate answer to our problem (Jn 3:16-17). So, His answer to our emptiness, is that we be filled with the Spirit of Life (Lk 24:49)(Eph 5:18).

I think of my daughter, who this week said her bike was broken. Her brothers were out biking, but her tires were flat. She wasn’t going anywhere. Her tires simply needed more air. Revival has to do with bringing new life into our flat existence.

 Somewhere, there was a leak.

Instead of being strong and firm, believers can become like a tire that needs air or a plant that needs water. Did you ever walk by a wilted plant? If it could cry out, it would shout, “Water me or I will die!” The cells are not properly functioning and the whole plant is limp. Once we give water to the plant, it is revived. It straightens back up and shows signs of strength and potential fruitfulness.

Revival is God’s remedy!

So then, what is it that happens in revival? The best way of answering that question is to look again at the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4). The Holy Spirit literally descended and began to preside over the fellowship; baptising the believers gathered in that upper room. The result was supernatural fire and passion from above. God was taking charge of His Church and manifesting His power to guide and lead them by His purposes or judgements, if you will.

  • The signs of revival become visible as God’s people experience the influence of His judgements.

”And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God: That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and My maidservants, I will pour out of My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.” (Acts 2:17-18)
