Anointing and Increase

“Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all. So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: ‘The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.’” (Luke 4:14-19)

“…God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” (Acts 10:38)

Jesus was anointed by God… indeed “God was with Him” in increasing measures by a lifestyle of prayer and fasting. His example is designed to be our model of spiritual discipline. It was Jesus’ experience even as a youth to increase in His favor with God and man (Lk 2:52). Yet even in the transition of Jesus into His Earthly ministry, we can see a direct connection between a lifestyle of prayer and fasting and His increasing anointing (Lk 5:12-13)(Lk 6:12)(Mk 9:29). This reality is both inspiring and instructional.

Notice how God moves Jesus into His public ministry:

  • He is baptized in the river Jordan, where He is filled with the Holy Spirit and hears the voice of His Father from heaven (Lk 3:21-22).
  • Immediately (it would appear to me) Jesus establishes a posture of prayer and fasting as He is led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the Devil (Mt 4:1-2).
  • While in the wilderness, Jesus feels the challenges of the Devil, the hunger in His body and the threat of wild beasts. He becomes aware of the ministry of angels as well as the strength given by the Words that proceeded from the mouth of God (Mk 1:12-13).
  • He experiences increase in the anointing and breaks through the challenge victorious, because the Devil left Him until a more opportune time (Lk 4:13).
  • Jesus would return to Galilee in the increased anointing and power of the Holy Spirit bearing evidence with signs following, because people give Him glory and praise for His teaching ministry (Lk 4:14-15).
  • Now that the temptation was over His ministry would begin with a journey to Nazareth and an announcement of how He was anointed by the Holy Spirit to preach, heal, bring deliverance and freedom to the captive heart (Lk 4:16-19).

Defining the Anointing:

The anointing is God being “with us” or God’s Glory manifest upon our lives. Glory is defined best as God’s “Weighty” Presence or abiding spiritual power made known through our fellowship with the Holy Spirit. I have often said the anointing is God’s hand of favor upon our lives for the advancing of His activity in the world around us. We see this in how Jesus carried the anointing. He went about the Judean countryside advancing the Kingdom of God, because the anointing was on His life. God was with Him, empowering and leading Him, breaking the grip of the Devil and advancing the activity of His Father’s heart.

Why Prayer and Fasting:

Prayer and fasting increases our ability to know and sense the supernatural Presence of God, by awakening our spiritual senses and diminishing our emphasis on flesh desires. His power and His Glory begin to increase as we meet with God and experience fellowship in an unhindered way. God’s will and His ways become more recognizable when we are sensitive to His heart. I would describe the anointing as an actual physical experience whereby we feel the internal warmth of His Presence upon our body. That is why it increases as we pray and fast. By yielding our hearts in greater measure to the Holy Spirit’s activity we can welcome and value the anointing and make room for increase in our lives. It is like a signal that God sends to us saying that He is with us. He is showing Himself to us and approves of what we are saying or doing (Jn 14:21)(2 Cor 1:21).

There is nothing so important to our Christian walk than our faith in God (Heb 11:6)! It pleases Him when we step out in ways that give Him greater opportunity to reach the world through us. It is my desire to encourage prayer and fasting so that we may increase in the anointing of God and be more effective as Kingdom Agents in the world around us.

We are ambassadors for Christ {The Anointed One} as though God were pleading through us… Be reconciled to God! (2 Cor 5:18-21).

An Apostolic Company

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His Kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” (Isaiah 9:6-7)

It is vital that God’s Kingdom Government gets established in the Earth today. That which was laid upon the shoulders of the Son of God must find its expression in the Children of God under Christ’s authority. The Church is a living organism, with a government established and advanced by the activity of God’s “brooding” Holy Spirit. When an Apostolic Company of believers; like Christ’s disciples, wait upon the Holy Spirit in an upper room, something amazing gets birthed in the natural… a dwelling place for God! The Church finds its birth and government in the Spirit and gets established upon a people who are willing to let God lay foundations. The history of the Bible continues to declare this one truth, wherever He is welcome, God will have a habitation among us in the spiritual realm (Eph. 2:22).

Jesus testified of the impact on the “gates of hell” when His Church finds its footing and its identity (Mt. 16:18).

The Called Out Ones:

This is the “ecclesia” (the called out ones) that God is after and will use in these last days, both spiritually and prophetically. It is the priority of Christ to establish the Church on this rock of revelation – “Christ, the Son of the Living God”. We are His offspring, the living stones huned from the original Rock and Chief Cornerstone (1 Pet. 2:4-5).

Foundation Stones:

We must begin by embracing the pattern God gives for establishing spiritual foundations. He has given gifts to the Church by “grace” (Eph. 4:7) and imparted a release of favor to chosen individuals. These divinely chosen roles or ”mantles” are identified by the Apostle Paul as the 5-fold ministry. The first mantles, in rank and order that are called to this duty are the apostle and prophet. God’s goal is to establish His government upon an Apostolic Company. This “company” simply represents a group of people, of any size that recognize the spiritual impact of their willing yieldedness to God’s divine order. An Apostolic Company is a network of individuals, who allow the free flow of God’s governing to rest upon them. They must be full of the Holy Spirit and graced by God to set the platform for the Kingdom of Heaven to rule among them.

Ordering the Living Stones:

God orders His Living Stones in line with His grace given to men (Eph. 2:19-22). This might seem unusual and difficult at first; but as a team begins to let God’s voice emerge, it will come. He will lead by His Holy Spirit. Living Stones are set into the foundation as we listen to the spirit of revelation flowing forth. It is important to remind ourselves that the anointing Jesus carried emerged out of a work of the Holy Spirit and released the authority to do the miraculous things we see Jesus doing (Lk. 4:19). Signs and wonders were not the achievements of man, but the evidence of God’s anointing (Acts 10:38). Jesus was the ”Messiah”, the “Christ” or “Anointed One”… and the “Christian” is to become “little anointed ones”, because of the government of Heaven in their midst.

Wait On God:

We must not become concerned if it is a little difficult at first to see the Apostolic Company emerge. God is working and He will do it! These times must be part of an overall waiting process and discovery of the Glory of God manifesting itself among a people. Seeking His purpose in our midst and allowing Him to inhabit our praise and worship times, will release an atmosphere of divine order. Pray and even fast for this emerging atmosphere. These are the most important moments in the birthing of God’s spiritual government. Yet its reward will be in the revelation of His heart and vision among the company.

New Testament Paradigm:

When the 120 believers in the upper room experienced the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, there was such a massive wave of God’s power that hit the Earth that the little company of followers were transformed into revolutionaries. The region was infiltrated, shaken and completely turned upside down by the Holy Spirit. This event represents the first apostolic revolution and at the end of the day 3,000 souls were saved and a New Church was birthed that looked nothing like the religion of the day. A unity of Spirit and community of faith were now shaping the future of how the world would see God (Acts 2:40-47). The Church would be supernatural and authentic, yet committed to one another and the teaching of the Apostles.

An Apostolic People:

An Apostolic People are a sent people and a sending people, knit from the same fabric as their Leader - Jesus. “As the Father has sent (apostello) Me into the world, I also have sent (apostello) them into the world” (Jn 17:18). Today, as in the days following Pentecost, there is an outpouring of the Holy Spirit that is making its way across the nations and reviving the apostolic mandate. The echo is felt in the heart of every apostle,  “therefore go and make disciples of all the nations” (Mt 28:19).

Vision & Unity:

It is very important to know that the vision is not primarily ”church building”, but Kingdom Advancement. Its more about the Glory of God, than the institution of man. Jesus will build His Church, but Apostolic Companies are driven by the call to disciple nations (Mt. 28:18-20). People are very tired of the competition that comes from our church growth activities. God wants to pull down religious perceptions and misguided agendas that work contrary to unity in the company.

Focus On the Glory of God!

Take ownership of the atmosphere of congregational gatherings and leadership meetings in an effort to release the power and purpose of God, as exibited in Psalm 133:1-3. Notice: Ps. 133:3 says – “There the Lord commanded the Blessing!” That is what you are after!!! Its the anointing oil that flowed as a Priestly Company is established in the Holy Spirit. Now you will get accostomed to the heaviness of God’s Glory… it is supposed to be this way. It is the atmosphere of God walking in the “cool” of the day with Adam. The word for “Cool” is Ruach, which means “Spirit” and is the expression of the Glory that was present in the Garden of Eden. Adam was naked and was not ashamed, because he was clothed in the Glory of God at Creation (Ps. 8:5). The word for crowned here is the same word for clothed. It is also noted as the goal in Colossians 1:27 – “Christ in you the hope of Glory”. Recognize that walking in the Glory will establish the training in righteousness and the authority of the Apostolic Company.

We are moving from Glory to Glory as by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Cor 3:18). God will do it!

Supernatural Impact

Scripture: Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all. Thought for Today: “Increasing in the Anointing”

Jesus was anointed by God and increased in that anointing by a lifestyle of prayer and fasting. His example is designed to be our model of spiritual discipline. It was Jesus’ experience even as a youth to increase in His favor with God and man (Lk 2:52) but prior to His ministry we can see a direct connection between His lifestyle of prayer and fasting and His increasing anointing (Lk 5:12-13)(Lk 6:12)(Mk 9:29).

Let your impact become… supernatural!

Update: Tanzania

Update from our RevivalHut Director in Tanzania: Pastor Bernard Ogallo

Hello Pastor Ron;

Greetings to you in the name of the Living God, our Lord and Savior Jesus! Pass my greetings to all of your family and even our fellow Sisters and Brothers… even our fellow Christians in the United States. So my brother I want to let you know that its God’s plan for you to come in Tanzania to bring good news in Tanzania and even Africa.

So here is a brief report concerning the work of Tanzania, Jesus is becoming well known among us! I want to assure you that I went in the southern parts of our nation, which is about 650 kilometers. When I was there they welcome me in their province and I spent two weeks with them.  There in the southern parts of Tanzania we received some of the members who believed to join our ministry… I give glory to God. Up to this moment we need Training Manuals, I have seen many new converts and found a great opportunity for the message of God’s Glory! Please know that the doors are open to expand our work.

I am now in my province and have come to understand the blessing of the teaching of God’s Word, for many are advancing in our region as well. We are daily using the materials from the web to expand our knowledge. So Brother Ron I want to let you know that everything is right. The Bible training is ongoing, youth department is also going very well. Our 12 churches are experiencing growth and evangelism is also ongoing.

OUR REQUEST is that prayers would be extended, we are praying over your coming soon in Tanzania even if the Lord will allow you to stay with us – even two weeks. I and Pastor Francis from Uganda are in agreement and praying over your coming, May God bless you!

Yours in love; Pastor Bernard Ogallo

Fullness of the Kingdom

“For the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (Rom. 14:17)

The Glory of God brings the fullness of the Kingdom of God into our midst. Heaven is not a doctrine, it’s a reality. Actually, its an entire realm of reality where the spiritual can become as comfortable and natural as home. The key is to gain a knowledge of the Glory of God by experience and fellowship in the Holy Spirit. Jesus instructed us to become invested in this reality, by teaching us how to pray. “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done. On earth as it is in heaven” (Mt. 6:10). He called us to pull heaven into earth… into our daily routine.

How close is the Kingdom of Heaven today?

Jesus said repent, or change the way you think; because the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand (Mt. 4:17). And then He demonstrated its effect on natural reality (Mt. 4:23-25). Can you imagine that? Stretch out your hand. Contemplate the distance from your heart to your finger tips… believe and set your mind to receive – and welcome Him. You will immediately find a door open to you for fellowship. Can you feel that? God has come near by the Holy Spirit. That’s at least how close the Kingdom is to you every day. When we welcome the Presence of God, the Kingdom comes and something begins to shift or make room.

When God’s People seek Him with all of their heart, they are promised to find Him and experience the process of being brought back from captivity (Jer. 29:11-14). What is capturing your heart? God has a better plan and thoughts of a better future! Recognize that the entry of the Kingdom will create space for dwelling. The Holy Spirit will brood over you for access. As you seek Him with a humble posture He will draw near and manifest Himself as Deliverer, Savior and Lord. This process moves out sin, stagnation, religion and anything else that stands in it’s way… in order to create habitation for His Glory (Eph. 2:22)(Jn. 14:23)(Acts 2:12-16). You and I were made for this kind of fullness!

The Church’s Destiny:

It’s time that the Church moves into the fullness of the Kingdom and finds her destiny in God. Scripture tells us that “the Glory of the latter house will be greater than the former” (Hag. 2:9). A lot of people go around looking for the perfect church. They will never find it. God doesn’t promise us that the latter house will be greater. He says that the Glory of the latter house will be greater! Don’t look for the greater house, look for the greater Glory!

Don’t look for the greater house – look for the greater Glory! “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” (Hab. 2:14)

What kind of a Church is Jesus looking for? Scripture tells us that He is looking for a Glorious Church (Eph. 5:27). Glorious means “filled with Glory”. At the dedication of the Temple, after Solomon prayed, the Bible says that “fire came down from Heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the Glory of the Lord filled the Temple. And the priests could not enter the House of the Lord, because the Glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s House” (2 Chron. 7:1). I believe that God wants His Church to look like that! Do you think the world will notice the Church if the Glory of God falls on us to that degree? I believe the day is coming when the world will see the Glory of the Lord upon the Church.

  • Listen to these words… “Arise, shine, for your light has come! And the Glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His Glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising” (Isa. 60:1-2).

When the Glory shines upon you, people will notice… nothing will remain the same!

He wants to give us a greater and greater understanding of the Glory, so that we can walk in the fullness of His Kingdom. One of the firsts steps we must take is to realize the power of the cross and the victory that was won there. We must realize that without the sacrifice that Jesus paid on the cross, we wouldn’t even have the desire to know Him, let alone experience His Glory. The death and resurrection of Christ opened up a “New and Living Way” for mankind (Heb. 10:20), so that we could really get to know the God who created us… for the fullness of His Kingdom.

The New and Living Way is Fullness!

When I look at the cross, I see two sides:

*First: I see that the death of Jesus has taken away sin, once and for all! “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (Jn. 1:29) That is what we are saved from… no more bondage, no more chains – freedom from sin!

*Second: I see that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ saving us to something, not just from something! We are saved from sin, but we are also saved to enjoy the glorious life in the Spirit. This is the “New and Living Way” He has promised, in the fullness of His Glory; for every believer. This new way of life began the moment you believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. You have eternal life now, not when you die. You have it now. The Kingdom is available to you today.

You can walk as more than a conqueror today! You have been given dominion today to walk in the fullness of the Kingdom of Heaven.
