Welcome to Kenya!

Ron received this word in an e-mail from businessman, Adam Maina, from Nairobi, Kenya about 2 weeks ago.

Ron and Adam Maina

Adam Maina, picked Ron up from the airport last night, drove him to a Christian guesthouse, and spent most of today showing him around Nairobi.  Ron had a fabulous time listening as Adam showed him the city. Adam showed Ron everything in Nairobi, from the slums, to the mansions, sharing the whole time his desire for a supernatural change in his country.  Adam is setting up a large conference/crusade type meetings in August.  He has done this before, and seen short term changes, but he so desires, long term ones.

There are times I feel the same way.  Don’t you? So many times I’ve seen “on fire” Christians  fizzle out like  solar flares.  The frustrating thing about this is that only the person of the Holy Spirit can bring about long term changes.

Just as He brooded over the earth during creation, and then brooded over Mary to produce our Savior.  He needs, and desires to brood over us.

He has to brood over Kenya, brood over the US, brood over my neighborhood until hearts are changed.

Recently I spoke with a dear friend of ours.  He and his wife recently accepted positions to work at a boy’s ranch near Branson, MO called Lives Under Construction.  He shared with me that the prayers that Ron had for Kenya in his blogs, he was praying over the ranch. (look at “Seeing Prophetically”)  As he was praying, God gave him a vision of  what He saw in each of the boys and how to pray over them.  Since then he has seen drastic changes both in his heart, and in the boys he works with.

So, I got on Ron’s blog and re-read the prayer/declaration again myself.  I saw myself personalizing the prayer, and praying it over my neighborhood, my nation, my family, inviting the brooding power of the Holy Spirit to make long term changes in hard dry places.

Ephesians 3:20 encourages me with this……

“Now to Him, Who, by the action of His power that is at work within us, is able to carry out His purpose and do superabundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or think…infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes or dreams.  To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (So be it)  (Amplified)
